Predictions: Rank The 10 Teams With The Best Chance Of Reaching The Final Four

Featured Replies

Definitely. But as of now, neither team has showed anything to make me believe they are a realistic threat to make it to the Final Four. JMO.

Of the two I would give UK an edge.

Of course, the tournament is so random that either of the two could make a run. I just think there are several teams with a better chance.

If you are being objective, neither Louisville or UK should be in the Top 10 of this list...

Here's why I included both....They're both currently on an "upswing", and seem to be improving with each passing game. Strictly speaking on a talent level, they both deserve to be there, and if the improvement continues, come March I see both having as good a shot as almost anyone else at making it.

Kansas and Arizona are the two scariest teams in my book. Matchup nightmares. Now for Kentucky if Andrew Harrison continues his streak of improvment I like the Cats chances to advance. What we have learned under Cal if he has steady guard play he can coach his teams deep.

Of the two I would give UK an edge.

UK definitely has the better chance between the two.

I really think UK belongs. Just so much talent top to bottom. If the question were: "If the season ended today...", I wouldn't give them much of a chance. I'm a fan though, so maybe I'm not being as objective as possible, there's really no way to tell.

I am of the personal belief that they are one of 10-12 teams I'd list if asked who had the best chance of reaching the Final Four. I wouldn't have them higher than 7 or so though.

I just haven't seen anything that showed me they are capable of putting together four good games in a row, especially against that level of competition. The talent is there, no question. IMO, the SEC never does UK any favors in preparing for the tournament, but in most recent years, that hasn't mattered because the talent level has been off the charts.

I've always been a believer in Coach K philosphy. Road games whether in conference or out of conference don't prepare you for the tourney as much as neutral site non conference games.

Gimme a week and I will give you an answer on Duke. They seem like they are turning the corner but they play at Pitt and at Syracuse this week. Big sign for us on the Dukies.

I'm not a UK fan in the least, so I feel like I'm pretty objective on this topic, and I feel good having them at 10th. I also think they are capable of getting beat, but in terms of complete teams that I feel could win 4 games against good teams, they're on there. To me, UL and Duke would be at about 15 and 16 if I extended it out (Cincinnati would probably be 17-19).

Jokers, I don't think it is an aggressive bet at all that three of the final four would be on my list. You do occasionally get a Cinderella, as you reference, but the odds of getting two are very, very slim. Good teams are good teams, and with the amount of coverage that everyone gets now, plus the amount we know about kids before they even get there, not much sneaks up on serious and deeply entrenched fans.

If everyone was 100% healthy, I'd have Michigan State above Arizona, but they are the only ones.

To answer Clyde, most likely to get beat early (on my list), not surprisingly, it would be teams 8, 9, and 10 (plus 11 and 12, obviously). Wisconsin can run into offensive droughts that even their excellent defense can't carry them through. Villanova is overly susceptible to a tough whistle (they get to the foul line a LOT) and teams that control the paint on both ends. Kentucky, like any team that is loaded with inexperienced talent, can just have "one of those nights" more often than some.

Things can certainly change based on injuries and teams getting healthy, but I'd expect I'll feel great about at least 3 of those 12 playing in Dallas in late March / early April even in a month.

Kansas will win it all. That's all you need to know.

Anybody have any revisions?

HAHA add LSU. J/K

Arizona

Syracuse

Kansas

Kentucky

Wichita State

Florida

Oklahoma State

Michigan

Michigan State

Wisconsin

I may be a tad over optimistic about Kentucky's prospects but I believe they will continue to improve every game right up to the post season tournaments. I think they have more upside than any team in the NCAA.

I'm 100 percent totally embarrassed by this prediction in light of the pitiful exhibition the Cats put on in Baton Rouge last night. I should officially lose my BGP Rights and Privileges to ever make another college basketball prediction.

:lol2:

Don't take it so hard. We have all been made to look silly by our favorite team. Some more than others. :D
