January 24, 201412 yr Who is Wendy Davis? She is currently a TX state representative whose district is in Fort Worth. You may recall a few months ago when the governor and repub's in TX's state government were trying to put through some restrictions on abortion (I think one was no abortions after the 1st Trimester, another may have been that the abortion provider had to take a mammogram and show it to the mother to make sure she realized what was about to be aborted, etc.), Wendy Davis was the state representative who stood up for x number of hours in order to prevent the bill from being voted on. The session of TX's legislature was scheduled to conclude at a certain hour and she kept talking at the podium to make sure time expired. Due to how long she stood there, aids were bringing her tennis shoes, water and other things so she would not have to leave the podium which would have ended her talk and allowed the bill to come to a vote. She is now heralded by Planned Parenthood, NARAL (I think that is the acronym) and other Pro Choice groups. This attention she has garned has made her the front runner for the Dem nomination for TX governor. Back to my griping about how so many elections are now low information elections, the media is saying that her attractive looks will help her greatly in the election for governor. Once again, who cares what a candidate looks like???? AARRRRRRR. The voting public drives me crazy.
