Back to my griping about how so many elections are now low information elections, the media is saying that her attractive looks will help her greatly in the election for governor. Years ago there was a thought with Mexican migration, Texas may become a Blue State. Immigrants generally favor democrats but Mexican Americans do not seem to be as loyal to the dems as they were before. My guess is that Mexican Americans have memories of their government, a government they did not trust, back home and brought that distrust to the US. Distrust in government can lead one to favor less government so Mexicans tend to be pretty split between parties. Texas may become like KY where moderate/conservative dems can get elected governor or to the state legislature but when it comes to national elections, I bet the state will continue to lean GOP.

Obama got 71 percent of the Latino vote, Romney got 27 percent, according to Pew Research. Demographics will turn Texas blue. Same also occurring in Arizona.
