January 23, 201412 yr Rumor has it Scott Rolen is loaning Ryan Ludwick his old rocking chair so he can relaxwhile having a .220 season and taking in about $6,000,000 like he did :sarcastic:
January 25, 201412 yr Why are so many people SOOO against Ludwick? I understand that his fielding is awful and he has the arm of a pre-schooler. But he was also a very key cog in the Reds 2012 run (especially when Votto went down) and if memory serves me right he was crushing the ball coming out of spring training last year. Yes, I know spring training doesn't always mean a lot but is Ludwick really all that bad?
January 25, 201412 yr The reds interest in Sizemore says tons about the outfielders on the current roster.
January 25, 201412 yr I don't think Ludwick will hit .250. I bet his stat line is .245 with 12 homers and 65 RBIs.
January 25, 201412 yr The reds interest in Sizemore says tons about the outfielders on the current roster. Yes and no. Yes in the fact they need depth out there, no in the fact that they weren't looking at Sizemore to replace Ludwick
January 25, 201412 yr Author I hope he doesnt play enough to do that. Better off with Heisey/Paul Platoon. I don't think Ludwick will hit .250. I bet his stat line is .245 with 12 homers and 65 RBIs.

January 25, 201412 yr The reds interest in Sizemore says tons about the outfielders on the current roster. Why? Sizemore was strictly as a security for Billy Hamilton. You have Bruce who only continues to get better in right and Ludwick who hasn't hurt this team in any way aside from maybe his defense. Sizemore would have been a win/win and doesn't really say much about the Reds outfield at all. If he returns to form, they get a veteran all star and get to let Hamilton develop another year and they don't over pay for him.

I've always considered Ludwick a better than average left-fielder defensively. He certainly was seen as such with the Cards.
January 25, 201412 yr Author Maybe we could bring back a Willie Taveras/Corey Patterson platoon :ohbrother:
