Soooo … this Chris Christie guy

I don't see Christie's claims of ignorance any less credible then Obama's claims of ignorance over things (IRS targeting, if you like your doctor, fast and furious, etc.). The big difference is that Christie actually fired someone.

I didn't post this for comparative purposes to Obama. Just thought it odd how such a big national news item flew under the radar here.

Dems want to impeach, full investigations.

But when Bengahzi, Fast and Furious, IRS, is mentioned they shut up and act like nothing ever happened. How Dems are such hypocrites. And so are Reps. But Dems more.

No, they're all equally hypocritical. You're just saying that "Dems more" because it suits your political beliefs. BOTH SIDES ARE SCUMMY!

As I noted before, I didn't start the thread for comparative purposes. Just correcting an oversight. I don't feel any need to post any of Obama's voluminous mishaps since you guys on the right are all over it.

Most likely because, as Habib said, if you don't live in Jersey you probably don't give a crap about traffic up there.

I actually find it funny this is a bigger news in some news organzation than the IRS scandal. If we are comparing which affected more Americans it is hardly a comparison.

But as mentioned this probably opens the door for some other GOP politicans. The funny thing is after this scandal broke Christie's approval rating with conservatives went up.

Really? Do you really think that is true? That this is bigger news in some media outlet than the IRS scandal?

I heard a political science professor say yesterday that this story gets a lot of coverage because its a simple issue to follow AND its something that hits close to home. The issues you and others referenced are more complicated and do not hit us close to home on a daily basis.

I'd say he is spot on.

Its only bigger news in the media sicne the media is a biased DEM media. Sure they want to try and take spotlight off the book by Gates condeming Obama and Clinton. Plus it slows Benghazi down a little too. And it helps people to forget the IRS investigator is a big Obama money contributer.

Anything in the news to make the Reps look bad is going to be big news.

I'd say he's full of it but it's about what I would expect from a political science professor.

The misuse of funds is a non-story it's already coming out some of the expenses questioned were approved by Obama Admin. But like I said I wouldn't be surprised if Christie knew about the bridge in some way. I just think in the grand scheme of things a bridge order in NJ isn't going to bug people in the rest of the country.

This is a big story because polling shows Christie is the current front-runner to become the GOP presidential nominee in '16. This Tony Soprano-like retaliation scandal also opens the door wider for someone like Rand Paul.

Not a Christie fan and am not surprised at the allegations as he's always struck me as a hard ball type of operator. Even if he wasn't involved with the lane closings, I believe his style of politics leads him to draw in others of a like mind who would play games like this. Similar to Obama's Chicago cronies who I imagine have done a lot of dirty tricks without Obama explicitly knowing about them. Hillary Clinton is the same way.

If someone who is truly on the up and up ever manages to rise in national politics they will stick out like a sore thumb. And probably fail miserably.

My juvenile sense of humor leads me to laugh at the traffic issue, though I'm sure I'd be singing a much different song if I lived in that area.

The use of Sandy aid money is far more concerning for me, but I admittedly haven't read or heard much about it. Is the accusation there solely about them using a more expensive Advertisement that featured Christie as opposed to the less expensive Advertisement that did not?

Got some news for them, gonna have to try harder if you want to bring Christie down. :ylsuper:

Rule 2

Christie is the closest thing the GOP has to a candidate who might actually be able to win some electoral votes in the NE and break the Dems' grip on their 20 presidential "safe states." And now he and the "moderate" Republicans have to deal with "Bridgegate." This is bad news for Roger Ailes and George Will.

I don't know if a bridge scandal in NJ hits home with most Americans. Heck after watching the Daily Show the other night this scandal wouldn't even crack the top 100 in NJ.
