Minnow" has holes everywhere, has no discernible charted path, and a crew where the "owners" of the ship threw a 30 year veteran captain overboard in favor of a new captain who learned to sail in a bathtub...and now is throwing new crew members overboard and hauling old one's up out of the water...

While I like your analogy, I don't think the Minnow is in risk of sinking. It may hit some choppy water but one way or the other the ship will be righted. These things happen, in the early 2000's, Our Lady of the T and HH Male were the mighty vessels dominating the Commonwealth Sea with the Minnow never able to keep pace. Before then, Our Lady of the T had struck ground and watched as the Minnow and the HH Male ruled. The Minnow will be swimming fine soon enough.

Everything you just said took place with the Old captain and I'm putting my money on them needing yet another new captain to right the ship. Let me throw this out there for you. The guy couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper sack this year. You all need to hope he's learning on the run.

The powers whomever they really are wanted to bring in a "name" that could attract a different clientele to poplar level road. (same clientele they are getting in St.Mathews) Just turns out there were 2 problems. A. The name can't coach as well as the captain. B. The clientele weren't impressed by the "name" and it didn't move the needle at all.

Everything you just said took place with the Old captain and I'm putting my money on them needing yet another new captain to right the ship.

 

It may take a new coach but I feel they will be back one way or another.

 

If you are correct, if they do find another Capt'n, do you think they will look outside like T has or stick with their tradition of hiring w/in the ship?

I would say it would be a wider search. But I have a feeling it would be someone with some type of connection and who has coaching experience.

I think it is a bit premature to throw the baby out with the bath water after only one year. If a change is made, I doubt if there will be a national search. There would be some excellent local choices (LEfors).

Who do the tigers have coming back on the roster?

In an absurd change, I too have heard from reliable sources that Walsh is not going to be the Defensive Coordinator next year. Have not heard that Bruner has returned to the staff and would be extremely shocked considering the reason he left (loyalty to Glaser).

I see a 5-5 regular season at best. It could get really ugly on Poplar Level Road! I cringe thinking about how weak the offense will be and how we don't know what to expect from the defense. Unbelievable fall from 2009 to now.

 

As for a new coach: LeFors got a new job right? He's not at CAL anymore? Is he on Petrino's staff at UL?

 

Glaser has been in talks with schools like Manual and Ballard about wanting to get back into the coaching game! It's coming folks, just prepare yourself for that. He isn't done coaching by any stretch.

 

Noah Houk will be about the only bright spot next year, he can be special. Know the Sindelar kid from Caldwell County, Noah claims he is better than him. Should be interesting! He won't be able to put up equal numbers with Sindelar because let's be honest, 6A > whatever Caldwell County is.

 

Just a little update on Tiger Tech from me! Would love to hear everyone's take on any of the above comments.

Not shocked if Coach Walsh is not the DC next year; will be shocked if Coach Bruner replaces him for the reason stated by Xavier above.

 

I would say based on the schedule this team will be 6-4. While BG is always good, there will be a bit of a drop off in talent in '14 and I think X will be able to snap the 3 game losing streak to Purples.

 

I'm excited to see Houk at QB, also believe Chase Rowan will be really good this year at RB. Not sure what they have on defense, but they have to upgrade their speed, too slow at just about every position.

I just do not believe that Mike would talk to MAnual or Ballard. Besides, they have coaches, and I do not see him as an assistant.

It would be very hard to see him on the sideline for Manual.

My reason I think Manual could work for him is because it has had a good tradition in football with guys like Keenan Burton and others in the past and still has a decent to good talent pool. I think he would love to go somewhere that he could go and play Wolford... little bit of personal revenge. Don't know how many games he would win at Manual or if it would be a good fit, but for one week it would be an epic battle to show a little bit of "I knew what I was doing and I can still coach" to the St. X administration and Will Wolford.
