A few notes:

 

1. CVH is as good as advertised. Kid absolutely filled it up tonight and took smart high percentage shots.

2. Schuh came to play. He showed a much improved game compared to last year. Aggressive and attacked at both ends.

3. Ruthsatz hit big shot after big shot when Holmes would go on a run.

4. Covcath's depth won them this game. They were able to play a physical game, keeping their starters out of foul trouble for the most part.

5. Chames missing 4 straight FT's really let the game get away from Holmes. 66-64 game, Chames misses front end of 1 and 1, Covcath goes on 5-0 run. Ball game. Holmes could never recover and get closer than I believe 5.

 

Credit all to Covcath. They played their game and were the better team tonight.

Awesome game by CCH. They had a great game plan and executed it to perfection. Congrats blue colonels!

 

Wish I could see their game with NCC. I don't think CCH necessarily matches up well with NCC, but hell, I was wrong about this game, so no result would surprise me.

We all saw some serious talent tonight for 5 bucks! I felt guilty and even went back to the ticket window and paid again (not really).

 

CVH plays with the confidence of a senior and then some. He was rollin' tonight and I lost track, but 25... WOW!... against Holmes???... DOUBLE WOW!!!

 

There were so many awesome plays tonight that my head is spinning. That highlight tape will be a keeper. That smooth one handed scoop lay up by Ruthsatz was the deal. So many contributers tonight for the Colonels. Shult's 2nd half spurt was dynamite. Schuh taking it to the hole time and again with authority silenced anyone who wondered what he was made of. Heppler displayed his nice stroke, Romes and Keller played solid kick butt minutes.

 

I'm going to listen CCH Internet Radio just to relive it all over again.

 

Not taking anything away from the Bulldogs, as they had their amazing moments too, but CCH showed who's boss.

 

Best game in the 9th Region thus far this season, and are you freakin' kidding me? We've got NewCath @ CovCath just around the corner.

How does a school like Holmes use a pre-recorded National Anthem? Surely they have a chorus or a few musically talented students that could sing for the crowd. I was disappointed.

 

I was wondering the same tonight, but then it occurred to me that they didn't have school today, so perhaps the band wasn't required to show up.

We had a veritable BGP convention going tonight. Heck , even BigV made it up from Anderson County. Very impressive. Good dude.

Side note...someone please tell Pangallo to swallow his whistle. Dude was terrible at both ends. Also, when a player asks for an explanation of a call, you don't just smile and laugh in their face and not respond. He did this tonight when Bolden asked how the ball was off of him and not Schult late in the game.

 

Was also surprised Schult didn't get T'd up for yelling in Hill's face (taunting) late in the game when CVH got the and one to put the Colonels up 10. O'Hara? was standing right there watching it go on and didn't step in to say something until the two started jawing while waiting for the FT and he only said something to Hill.

 

Those two interactions late in the game really stood out to me.

Covcath is the real deal and a legit top 10 team in the state. Their physical play really frustrated Holmes at times tonight. Offensively, they had an answer for every Holmes run.

 

Newcath will have their hands full Friday night. Covcath's depth is going to give a lot of teams problems.

#10 is Junior Rod Avery...had 6 points during varsity game. First man off the bench usually.

 

#21 is sophomore Andrew Arnold. Another kid that usually plays both JV and gets 5-10 mins on varsity.
