January 3, 201412 yr For some, it's really hard to grasp that Louisville can compete with the "bigger" jobs when it comes to money. Not always "win" with the money, but at least make the bigger guys really pay out if they want to steal a coach away. Serious question looking at this post . January 3, 201412 yr Serious question looking at this post . Where do you rank the Louisville job on the grand scheme of things ? It's not a Top 10 job (yet), but acting like Louisville is a terrible gig is just silly. Top of the line facilities, excellent recruiting pipe lines, a city that loves their sports, but isn't ridiculous with the pressure to win, and an AD that lives to make his sports programs successful. There are way more positives to coaching in Louisville than negatives.

Otherwise, it's just hyperbole, and much like I said last year, if there's nothing to say, I don't care to hear "coach speak"
January 3, 201412 yr It sounds like Texas is lining up there second tier choices and Strong is in that mix. One fellow I heard interviewed during the Sugar Bowl said that Texas initial wish list was: Saban Jim Harbaugh David Shaw Jim Mora Art Briles is in that second tier along with Strong. I would think James Franklin would be absolutely tremendous at Texas. His personality, ability to recruit would be perfect for Texas and what that job entails. He could schmooze with the best on the banquet/booster tours, recruit and develop talent and he is a good coach. I just don't see Strong as one that fits the Texas job. Not saying he isn't a good coach, but just doesn't seem to be the right fit. It will be interesting to see how the dominos fall in the other jobs. Penn State depending on who they hire can be the first to fall. Say Al Golden bolts back closer to his roots and leaves The U, that would be an interesting position for Strong.
January 3, 201412 yr Louisville is a stepping stone for coaches. They play a weak schedule in a pathetic conference which enables the coach to win a lot of games and make them look like they are great coaches and then move to bigger jobs.
