Why? NCC is a great atmosphere for big games.

How many people does the NewCath gym seat? Think of how much $$ the game could realize if played at NKU, and it would give many more people an opportunity to see two stellar teams. Seriously, both teams could be ranked in the top 3 in the state on Feb. 14. 5,000 fans at 8 bucks a ticket = $40,000.

Also, Mac Franzen (football QB) has yet to suit up, he adds a 6'1" MAYBE 6'2 frame and can stroke the 3.

I've seen Ballard. Newcath can play with them.

 

I think they'd struggle some with Ballard's quickness at both ends and pressure but Newcath's size would give Ballard A LOT of trouble at both ends as well. I really like Ballard and think they are the most talented team in the state but there are several teams who could beat them. See Holmes in 2010. That team was just as talented as Ballard is this year.

Ordu is the long, athletic kid that someone was referring to earlier in this thread. He is a nice player. Raw but has some talent.

 

Mayberry is a solid PG as well. He doesn't turn the ball over much and is fundamentally sound at both ends.

 

All 5 Boone starters average at or right around double figures.

I was going to go Sunday but my future brother in law returns from his 9 month tour overseas that day so I will be with family all day.

Definitely understand that. I do expect to be at the Republic Bank tourney quite a bit so I should definitely catch NCC there. Could be my second time seeing them in a week. That would be awesome. I can't wait to see them.

You won't be disappointed.

 

At first glance you wouldn't expect it because of their size, but they really get out and push the tempo and get in transition in a hurry. Coach Dawn's style and philosophy are a great fit for this team.

Coach and kids seem to be on the same page early in the year. Sat behind the NCC bench last night ... a couple times players on the court communicated with coaches on what they saw and Dawn showed support by calling sets that fit their observations. Maybe that's easier to do when your team jumps out to a big lead but I like the chemistry between good coach and high BB IQ out on the floor.
