Dale Mueller was about 10 games below .500 in his first head coaching job (Highlands was his 3rd and last, just as LexCath will be Perry's 3rd job).

 

Kevin Wallace was almost 20 games below .500 as the HC @ Warren East before he took the reigns of Bowling Green.

 

Ty Scroggins was 22-30 w/ only 1 winning seson at Doss & no playoff wins (his last season in 06) before he was hired at Central, and that's worked out pretty good.

 

There is a lot more to the stories behind HC's than just their record(s).

He also just took Central Hardin to their first region title game in almost 20 years.

 

I watched his teams at Washington and acouple times this year at Central Hardin. His teams have been very good on offense. Not very good on defense for the most part. He is going to be a very succesful coach, he is just very young and needs to develop an identity defensively.

Better get used to it Knight fans...it's gonna happen! Mark will do well. Letton didn't set the world on fire in his previous gig, would say he did alright. Get behind him, he's a great guy with Lex connections. Good luck!

Yes I have been to Washington County. All I am saying is that Lexington Catholic is a prime job and deserves a coach that has a proven winning record over several years, not just a single season.

This is not true, but I get your point. His first job was at Withrow and he was 48 - 12 in 6 years. His second job was Sycamore and he was 11 -19 in 3 years.

Compare his average season at C Hardin to the average season at the history of the school. If Perry's average season at Catholic is better than the average season at the history of the school then you will not be complaining.

My bad, had the jobs switched around, but yes..you get it, 8 games below .500 at his job before he took over the monster known as Highlands.
