This is probably because I've always had a job where I was being evaluated every month and year so open constructive criticism is just second nature .

 

Basketball wise : great stuff. Rally enjoyed the interviews. Good questions. Good insight.

Presentation: need to work on your writing if you want to make a run at doing this as a gig. Seems like little stuff but it matters.

I guess I mis-understood Coach Dawn in the interview. My apologies.

 

It was also brought to my attention that I forgot Heritage, Lloyd, and Villa Madonna in my preview.

 

I have forwarded the appropriate content to a mod and hope to have that added soon.

Also, in the schedule portion, it should be #3 Covcath #4 Dixie Heights....not vice versa.

 

I really struggled with how I wanted to rank those two and it wasn't until yesterday that I finally went ahead and switched them. I like Dixie and what they return but with Hatton not being fully healthy to begin the season, gave the nod to Covcath at #3 since they seem to be the more complete team RIGHT NOW.

 

Dixie will be a team nobody wants to see come region tourney time though. Don't let the game against Wilmington fool you. They will be extremely tough this year. Coach Chevy has a lot of depth to work with to find the right combinations.

 

Now just waiting to hear how wrong I am with this ranking or that ranking :lol2:

I really like what Dixie has this year but not sure I'd have them 2nd in the region. Their depth will end up probably being the best in the region by season's end, but I still want to see how they handle the type of pressure that teams like Cooper and Holmes will apply in the full court. That was the one thing they really struggled with Saturday against Wilmington. In their defense, though, I don't think they've really worked on a press offense much because of all the injuries throughout the off season and football guys being gone.

 

Until proven otherwise, Holmes should be #2. Quinton Chames will be REALLY GOOD this year. The coaches had him as high as 5th, I settled for 6th. Athletically, there isn't a forward or big man in the region that is better.

 

St Henry at #6 really isn't out of the question. I liked what I saw from them and think they will be a very tough opponent for everyone. Their starting 5 will be solid with Noble, Kunstek, Rechtin, Plummer, and probably Goetz. I know I said it earlier, but watch out for soph Paul Wallenhorst this season. He looked really good against Owen County.

 

Good point on Ludlow. They have two solid players in Cody and Howard. The play of Cam Hart, Josh Furnish, and other role players will determine how good they can truly be in D3. Beechwood will be better than you think. Should be between them and Ludlow for the D3 championship.

Another young guy to watch for this year is soph Mike Scott for Conner. He started Sat and looked solid for the Cougars. Also has nice size for a pg at a legit 6'1.
