Best High School Game of 2013

Featured Replies

With the 2013 down to just two weeks left, looking back on the 2013 season, what was the best game played across the commonwealth? It can be against out-of-state opponents....It can also be a game that had taken place in the playoffs.

I have 3...

Bowling Green/Blackmon TN......Fant scores late to give Bowling Green the lead and win.

Pike Central/Breathitt County....26-21 PCC in a playoff game that Pike Central hadn't never beaten Breathitt in the playoffs.

Estill County/Western Hills.....Estill comes from behind in a game that they really shouldn't have won but didn't give up and score late on a 34 yard TD pass on 4th down to win the game.

Trinity/Ensworth TN....Was a pretty good game even tho Trinity lost.

As for the best game in 2013, I go with Bowling Green/Blackmon TN

List as many as you want.

Mayfield @ Caldwell Co.. Both teams ranked # 1 in there class and coming in at 9-0 on the season..Back and forth game with 6 lead changes ending 48-41.. Over 1000 yards of total offense..

McCraken Co at Mayfield

It isn't one game but I think the biggest story of 2013 is Male beating Trinity and St. X back to back, twice.

That is a feat that more than likely will never be repeated.

If you like offense, how can it not be HHS vs Warren Central!!!! 71-69! That game was absolutely crazy!

....and the company you had for that game made it that much better.

But I would agree with you. This game was so much fun to watch, I wish there would have been more time on the clock.......as much as we wanted to leave early on, WC did one hell of a job makin' us stick around.

It certianly isn't the best one, but the NewCath/Beechwood regular season finale was a good one (especially for Breds fans). Breds lose 3 fumbles on their 1st 6 plays and are down 21-0 with 8:00 to go in the 1st Quarter, and come back to take a 28-24 halftime lead. Beechwood scores with 8:00 left in the game to tie it at 31, Breds Kicker John Caudill misses a 30 yard FG with 6:00 remaining, but atones for it with the game winner from 26 yards out with :12 on the clock.

Actually it was "spooky"

Highlands / Elder in the Pit.

Atmosphere could not get any better.

One score game that could have gone the other way if "the catch" would have been ruled a catch.

For an in state game. MAYFIELD at CALDWELL CO. No doubt. 2 undefeated teams. Ranked #1 in their respective divisions. Playing for an undefeated regular season. Both teams go all out and leave nothing in the tank. Lead changes. Ties. Either team could win. Lots of talent on both sides of the ball. OFFENSE.
