College basketball is at all time low. I have never been cheated the way we got cheated in Rupp Arena tonight...

On another note:

“We’ve gotta have the greatest fans, the classiest fans anywhere,” Calipari said of Big Blue Nation. “They gave a standing ovation to Cleveland State as they walked off the court.”

I wish I could find video of that. Not that I doubt my blue blood brethren, but oh wait. I kinda do. Is he sure he wasn't walking off at the same time, or Ashley Judd perhaps.

The officiating in college basket ball at certain arenas is borderline cheating, so I can see why visiting players are often speaking out about this.

Rupp is one of the worse.

This wasn't a player speaking out, it was the assistant coach. No cheating here. Coaches were made aware of the new rules. It is up to them to teach their player to play within the new rules.

My bad, but same point.

Refs in college basketball at some arena are worse then the WWE refs.

So are you saying the refs took this game away from Cleveland St?

In the little I watched the refs were bad.

The better team won.

Had the refs been on and not way off, Kentucky would have still won.

Please do not tell me you do not see the horrible job done by the refs at some arenas

This occurs 99.9% of the time when a unknown like team is giving the big time program a game.

...........

Home team is going to get more whistles; period. There is a pay-site schools subscribe to with referees stats and, on average, across the board, they call 1.4 fouls per game more on the away team. It is human nature.

That said, Cleveland State lost the game because they lost their composure in the last 5 minutes. There was a stretch when UK got it under 10 where Cleveland State turned it over 3 or 4 trips in a row -- that isn't on the refs. They took at least two ill-advised contested threes in that same stretch, so again, that isn't on the refs.

Cleveland State lost because they played with nothing to lose for 35 minutes and then played not to lose the last 5. Period.

All I know is the block charge on Harrison was awful in my opinion. Have they made it completely impossible to take a charge as the second defender? Other than, it seemed like how they are going to call all the games this year.

Nice to see the twins step up down the stretch and a solid performance by WCS.

I don't fall in the over reaction club. Look around the country, there are a lot of highly ranked teams having some close ones with cupcakes and even losing.

You answered my question because I knew I saw him play. I was thinking it was his senior year, but it was his junior year. Didn't they win a game & then lose in the 2nd round?

They lost to St. X in the first round 75-62. Fishback played but just couldn't do much. I can't remember if it was a sprained knee or ankle, but it was rather severe. I think they could have made a run if he was healthy. That team averaged 80 PPG.

You mean the one where Harrison was waiting for about 2 seconds with his feet set, outside the circle, and still didn't get the call? Yeah, that was a gem.

I agree, the second defender charge seems to have been thrown out the window.

I think the refs are adjusting to the way the NCAA wants the

games to be called now. They want more scoring and I've seen alot

of whistles in the past few days that I wouldn't even classify as a nickel-dimer.
