On the firts penalty the running back as upset when refs trying to get folks off the pile. The running back got up and cussed the official. The second penalty occured when #75 was yelling at the officials. This was after the official waved him off twice.

 

BW lost composure last night during the 3rd quarter.

 

Definitely agree about the composure thing. I can tell you that 75 is probably one of the most repsectcul and polite kids on the team. If he was yelling at the officials, something was wrong. Doesn't mean he was right for doing so, just saying something was happening that the refs weren't handling.

First of all, walking through the Beechwood faithful before the game, you could smell the liquor... So any of that group, you can take their word with a grain of salt...

 

As CoachBuckett said, on the particular instance when there were two unsportsmanlike penalties called on the same play, they were more than deserved.... #20 on Beechwood was running his mouth the entire game. The first one was from him pushing and shoving on Frankfort's sideline after the play, the second was once both teams were back in the huddle, and he kept running his mouth to the official over the ball.

 

Beechwood was called for several face mask penalties, and all but one were very obvious. I can think of another PI call on Beechwood, again, the DB got to the receiver way before the ball did. This sounds like a classic case of sour grapes. We know Beechwood isn't used to losing, but it happens.

 

Bottom line, Frankfort was the better team. They gave the Tigers a dose of their own medicine, and ran it down Beechwood's throat. The officials had nothing to do with that.

Don't they take crews for the games like they used to. If they put 5 guys together that haven't worked together I can see where they would have problems.

 

I do not have direct visibility into the process this year. But I know that last year officials were exchanging names and introducing themselves to each other 10 or 15 minutes before a semi-final game.

Uh, to create thread traffic and get people talking? I'll speak no names because I don't want anyone to defriend me, but I was told by a BW fan that this team had issues with keeping their composure. Based on what I've read, it sounds like that might be the case. Congrats, Frankfort.

This wasn't a state final crew, therefore they were familiar with each other. The third round is the practice run.

Yep and it was sent to guru during the game. Guru brought it up. You can also say they were bad and also believe it didn't affect the "outcome"

There are a few calls that also BW got the benefit from.

 

On Frankforts fFG attempt in the first quarter Local TV replay shows the FG was good from 2 different views. Also in the 3rd quarter BW wide out was fit and fumble the ball but was ruled a no catch. After review by same TV cameras he had caught the ball and made a move. Frankfort would have had the ball on their 25 yard line.

 

So yes officials are a part of the game. Calls do affect the game. But I dont think any group cares who wins.

I wasn't there so I don't know what all happened but usually when a team loses, their fans start blaming the refs. Happens just about every time...

This. Honestly, it's surprising when Beechwood gets that many penalties and people assume it's the officials. I think they were bad because they look disorganized and almost uncertain of many of the calls. Almost every penalty occurred on the other side of the field so we couldn't tell. I'm embarrassed when our fans start acting like that. Never helps to ride officials non stop. Let coach do the complaining.

I think that maybe some crews are and some aren't. I know a crew of officials from our area that call together had a game on Friday.
