Newport HighSchool is turf?

Newport High School has been turf for at least 7 or 8 years.

Nice to know that you are keeping your eyes on the road as you cruise by the field on I471.:thumb:

Gallatin Co., I'm told, is a grass field. 1st time this season NewCath plays on grass.

Fortunately, NCC has their practice field. The mud's one thing, but playing on grass is not that much of a difference at least in my experience. Also, NCC's practice field can get pretty messy so they should be prepared.

Doesn't look like weather will be as bad a spredicted in central KY. Drizzle has been most of the morning. Rain predicted around 3 but back to 30% chance around kickoff.

No way. Always play in the rain unless there is lightning

Especially this late in the playoffs. I can understand delaying until Saturday earlier in the season when the weather is warmer and you don't want to destroy your field for the rest of the year. But a Friday night in November in the rain sounds like a lot of fun!

Did Newport Catholic contribute anything to the cost of turf at Newport Stadium? I know they have to pay a fee for usage but was curious what (if any) they paid up front.

I was thinking something similar... as in... Where in the heck did Newport get the money for that?

You would think the Breds had to kick in something...

I agree. I remember when I played...we actually loved the rain games.
