I cried this morning. The game winning field goal for Male was kicked by Alabama Larry's son, Jonah White...aka the kicker. That one was for you, Larry.

Never even dawned on me....that's very special....

Tough loss, but the Tigers didn't feel soory for themselves and put together a tremendous comeback that came up just short. Give Male credit for not hanging their heads after giving up 21 straight and answering with a huge drive. Good luck to the Bulldogs next week.

I was fortunate enough to meet Larry, Momma and The Kicker. They were all some of the nicest, sweetest people. I can't stop thinking about how Larry would have been SO happy, and what threads and posts we are missing because he isn't here to start them.

Oh he is never far from my mind....especially this year. But since this was the Male/X thread, and The Kicker was the hero, I only speak of Alabama Larry. As well, I just am overcome with emotion over and over this morning thinking of what it would have meant to Larry to see his son save the day for his team.

Congrats to Male on the win. Any stats available, curious as to how many rushing yards X was held to? Clearly, enough for Male to win!

St.X rushed 21 times for 87 yards. Tigers attempted 38 passes , completing 23 for 283. Male passed for 409 (46/64) and ran 23 times for 101.

I don't understand our inability to adjust to the swing passes! Why were we playing 4 linebackers so close to the box? We were out flanked ALL game....

 

Nice comeback but we were not the better team.

Quite possibly.... no let me rephrase this.......WAS-the oddest offensive play calling scheme ever witnessed. I suppose St. X got too far behind to go with an specific game plan, but heaven only knows what or why the coaches came out with anything other than a grind it our physical game.

 

Defensively, no known adjustments witnessed after half time.

 

They should be ashamed.... this was the best bunch of athletes that St. X has put out in a long, long time.

True. Hopefully he learns from this. As far as getting too far behind, we were passing the ball early.we were only down 13 in the third we could've ran the ball as much as we liked.
