And if you want to really help someone out that has a tough job leave a dollar and the odd change. I usually tip the odd change plus a dollar. But I disagree that a waiter at a buffet is a tough job. Somewhere else, yes. Food service sucks to work in. At the buffet, if they'd put the soda machine out in the open, I'd gladly do that myself.

They are hustling to keep my iced tea filled, they are clearing plates by the time I get back with more vittles, and I'm probably getting a pretty good deal on a couple of lunches and drinks, so why not? Pay it forward people....

Buffet servers of any sort do typically work many more hours than full service servers because that's what it takes to bring home any decent dollars.

Why do they even have servers? I have to go get my own food. I could probably handle my drink as well. Obviously, I know it's not the servers' fault so I always try to tip unless something went really wrong but I don't care much for that model of business.

November 15, 201312 yr Which buffet is best?? We go to Empire Buffet in Crescent Springs. Fresh stuff especially at lunch. Dinner, not so much.
