November 15, 201312 yr I have a lunch date today at Tokyo Dragon in Alexandria (Japanese, but all the same to me). I'll do the Mongolian BBQ and they have a tip jar there, I seldom tip him. Probably should. They girls that fill my soda get a buck and loose change. Bugs me as well when they don't even take the bill up for you.
November 15, 201312 yr Which buffet is best?? We go to Empire Buffet in Crescent Springs. Fresh stuff especially at lunch. Dinner, not so much. We always go to Asian Buffet on Mall Road.

November 15, 201312 yr I usually leave $1 and the change as well, which at the buffet here in Frankfort, if drinking water, comes out to about 20%. However, I see a slight conundrum with buffets, but especially at the Chinese ones. As someone noted, in many of these places, many if not all the wait staff, host, etc. is family and has a stake (I assume) in the restaurant. If that's the case, in essence they are not the typical wait staff making $2.13 an hour or whatever it is like the old lady at Cracker Barrel is. They are, again I assume, making money on the back end of the business itself. Does this make a difference?

If the guy who waxed my car owns the car wash, he still gets a tip if he did a good job.
