He's been spotted sporting the Vermont spirit wear winter knit hat (even on not so cold days/and indoors). He certainly has Vermont on the "brain", so I guess that it's safe to say that he's preparing himself for that nice cool chill that he'll encounter when it becomes his home away from home for the next 4 years.

I looked up "Catamount" because to be perfectly honest I had never heard the word before. Had a good hunch that it was a "Cat" hence the name.

 

By definition it is any of various medium-sized felines, such as the puma or lynx.

 

In 2004 Vermont replaced past Catamount mascots "Charlie" and "Kitty" with the newer cute and fierce "Rally".

 

I've yet to locate what type of cat he specifically is, but I'm guessing that he's either a puma or a mountain lion.
