December 4, 201312 yr Has he ever been right on one of these predictions? He made a pretty good one about the Latos trade. Said the Reds got robbed.
December 4, 201312 yr So Jocketty said he has no intention of trading BP. Problem with that is, it's not your call Walt. Bob wants him gone, he'll be gone, simple as that.
December 4, 201312 yr So Jocketty said he has no intention of trading BP. Problem with that is, it's not your call Walt. Bob wants him gone, he'll be gone, simple as that. Are they trading him to Japan???
December 4, 201312 yr Are they trading him to Japan??? I have no clue what they're doing, or going to do. I'm saying, if the owner wants him gone, he'll be gone. Nothing more, nothing less.
December 4, 201312 yr I have no clue what they're doing, or going to do. I'm saying, if the owner wants him gone, he'll be gone. Nothing more, nothing less. Owner can want to his hearts content. Not much he can do without a trade partner...
December 4, 201312 yr Owner can want to his hearts content. Not much he can do without a trade partner... No doubt, however at least 3 teams have inquired if we're to believe mlbtraderumors.com. Makes me think if he really wants to move him, it'll get done.
December 4, 201312 yr No doubt, however at least 3 teams have inquired if we're to believe mlbtraderumors.com. Makes me think if he really wants to move him, it'll get done. They have to get some value for him. They can't just give him away.
December 4, 201312 yr Brad Johansen @bradjohansen 14m More Jocketty on BP: "I know he'd like to finish his career here. Things happen. We'll see." #Reds So he will trade him when he finds the right deal.
December 5, 201312 yr They have to get some value for him. They can't just give him away. That isn't their mindset. Freeing up $52 million IS getting value for him.
December 5, 201312 yr That isn't their mindset. Freeing up $52 million IS getting value for him. I agree with that mindset too. In a perfect world that money frees up enough money for Choo. Hamilton can play 2nd in that scenario.
December 5, 201312 yr I agree with that mindset too. In a perfect world that money frees up enough money for Choo. Hamilton can play 2nd in that scenario. Choo is getting more than 4 years and more than $52M.
December 5, 201312 yr Choo is getting more than 4 years and more than $52M. Correct, but that would free up $13 million per year to spend toward Choo if they wanted. Choo is out of the Reds price range though IMO.
December 5, 201312 yr Correct, but that would free up $13 million per year to spend toward Choo if they wanted. Choo is out of the Reds price range though IMO. If you're the Reds would you rather spend that money on Choo or Bailey and Latos?
December 5, 201312 yr If you're the Reds would you rather spend that money on Choo or Bailey and Latos? From what I hear Bailey will be traded. I would always spend money on top of rotation pitcher over a player like Choo.
December 5, 201312 yr From what I hear Bailey will be traded. I would always spend money on top of rotation pitcher over a player like Choo. I think they trade Homer and BP (not together, mind you), and lock up Latos to a long-term deal. Hopefully they get a solid bat/high level prospect in return for Homer. :idunno:
