March 13, 201412 yr Wonder how BP plays when he's mad. We may like him having a chip on his shoulder this season. IF Hamilton can get one base BP should see a ton of fastballs and those = HR's. If Hamilton is as successful stealing this year, as he was last year, sooner or later I think there's going to be a change in the philosophy. Coaches/pitchers/catchers are going to know that, even with a fastball and a slide-step delivery, you're not going to get him...why compound the problem by giving the hitter a pitch to hit. I think you'll see teams try to guess once, with a pitchout, and if they're wrong, then Brandon/Joey/Jay are going to get the junk. If anything, I think you'll see e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y long AB's (time-wise) once Hamilton gets on. Pitchers will hold the ball, hold the ball, and hold it some more (to the point where the batter asks for time)...or they'll throw over to first a half dozen times.
