I would say both.

Never said she was a victim, but we both know that if this had been an issue for someone on non-christian religious grounds everyone would be defended her right not to wear it.

 

News has made this a bigger issue than it needed to be, but still don't see what would have been the issue giving her the next number in the stack.

A) people that go out of their way to generate attention to themselves and their faith makes me squeamish. Just live your life the right way and lead by example. When you say "look at me, see how faithful I am", I've seen too many cases of that being less than genuine throughout.

 

And I'm not going on and on, I'm responding via a conversation. I'm certainly not on here emotionally ranting and raving. Just a healthy debate, no more, no less.

Never said she was looking for an out. I just think the choice was MUCH easier since she wasn't going to qualify. All the articles lead the reader to think otherwise. This didn't keep her from qualifying for state as she isn't magically going to shave 5 minutes off her PR in a few weeks.

 

I don't think giving up something you've worked hard for is ever easy.
