Raceland is peaking at the right time of year, but how do we compare Raceland to Russellville? Have you seen both play? I only ask because I would like to hear your comparison.

 

Pikeville is a good team that is explosive with a good passing game and very good running back. I tend to see them, Raceland and Frankfort as all pretty close in comparison to each other.

I've seen Russlleville and they are a good team but only run the ball. They also have lost 2 in a roll. You can't really compare some teams but I'm more impressed at this point with Raceland's body of work.

I'd probably have Pikeville at 2, Frankfort at 3, Raceland at 4, Russellville at 5, Beechwood at 6, Hazard at 7 and Williamsburg at 8

Guys never sale Bw short in the playoffs, they are young and still up and down but they are capable of beating anyone in 1A or losing to any of the top 5. I think they are still #3 or #4

 

I think Mayfield is still a clear #1 despite getting a L in a game that could have gone either way on the road in a hostile enviroment

 

I like Rville at #2 but they rely to much on the run to likely win it all though they are certainly capable

Hazard is a team that is flying under the radar, not hearing much about them as a contender. They have very quietly gone about their business and rolled since that close loss to Pikeville back in week 1. If there is any team that knows how to get deep in the playoffs in the east, it's Hazard. Another Mayfield/Hazard match up will break the 1 to 1 tie between the two teams for 1A championships this decade.

I like the way you think. I couldn't think of a better final then to see Mayfield square off against the Rams. But, the Rams have a ways to go for that to happen.

I believe that Williamsburg is being overlooked. I expect them to at least make it to finals in the East and I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the state finals.

Without seeing most of the teams ranked I won't argue any of this. I think that Pikeville should probably be a couple or more spots higher, Williamsburg may be somewhat underrated, I could be wrong but I believe that this Williamsburg group is the same group that won a jr. high state championship over the same Raceland group that are currently seniors and juniors. Again, I haven't seen most of the teams so I'll trust the BGP rankings. I agree with Ram in that Raceland is peaking, have been steadily improving since the loss to Lawrence Co. and are playing their best football now.

The Raceland defense has held opponents to eight points per game since the Lawrence County game. Can you say "wake-up call"?

I obviously want to see Raceland playing at WKU in 4 weeks but I remember that 20-3 lead on LCA in 2008 evaporating in the 4th qtr and all our hopes going down the drain. I am still not over it. I couldn't stand to see something like that happen again.
