Kentucky Dumb Fan Base

Featured Replies

What's the dumbest stereotypical Kentucky fan like in his element?

He lives in a mini-trailer behind his mom and dad's actual trailer.

The trailer is made to be pulled behind a truck, but there are no cement blocks to hold it up when it's not attached to a truck so when you enter the "house" you have to walk uphill to the back.

The only furniture is a bed, which is constantly sliding down towards the door.

Inside the trailer there is one poster, a faded Rick Pitino Kentucky Wildcats schedule from 1992 that is affixed to the ceiling above where the bed is supposed to be. Occasionally he has pretend conversations with Rick Pitino after he's had too much to drink, but he's ashamed of this fact and only admitted it to his second wife once and, DAMNED IF THAT ***** DIDN'T USE IT TO KEEP CUSTODY OF THEIR LABRADOR RETRIEVER MIX NAMED NAZR.

He has worn a Jeff Sheppard jersey to four consecutive weddings, only three of which were his own.

His three wives have had six children while married to him, but he has failed to be the father five different times when he was tested for child support.

The sixth child was brown and they didn't test him to see if he was the father.

Secretly he's hoping that Tiffanye -- with an e, yes, that's how you really spell it -- wasn't lying when she told him that Tony Delk was the baby daddy.

But he kind of doubts that Tony Delk hangs out at the Frankfort Ruby Tuesday.

Although come to think of it, that kid really didn't have a neck either.

And it's just as dumb and over the top the second time.

Hey Im a UK fan, I didn't see it before and thought they were all funny

And it's just as dumb and over the top the second time.

Since these phrases would NEVER be associated with BBN. :lol2:

Don't like it, just like I don't like the unoriginal "Loserville", line beards & flat bills, etc. Parts of it were sorta funny if you take them for what they are, but that's about it.

We're not all donkeys my man.

I'm a UK fan and it seems pretty accurate to me. Go back and read the last two coach hiring threads and tell me it isn't. Wire transfers, horse farm shopping, fight information. Our fanbase will sell a t-shirt touting ANY minor accomplishment. We have some really ignorant fans.

I would argue that every fan base does, though.

I didn't say you were. I've said before that I learned on BGP not all UK fans are idiots. But even here, they show their faces quite often.

I've seen a lot of people get REALLY worked up over that article. It was meant to be funny, IMO. If the guy did one about Louisville, I'd laugh about that one too.

I would argue that every fan base does, though.

Ergo, the fact that it is a top 10 list.

Yeah but UK fans, past and present, are in a league of their own when it comes to college basketball. You know it. I know it. We all know it.

Ergo, the fact that it is a top 10 list.

That spans ALL sports. Not just college basketball.

Says a lot.

I agree. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it and think people get overly worked up about it. I'm a UK alum and found some humor in it.

I just didn't think it was overly funny because some of the stuff in there was just recycled material. It's kind of like that episode of South Park where they spoof family guy. If you read Travis' article on Tennessee, there are the same wore 'v is trying to get his GED', wears 'w's jersey' to 'x's "big" event' and 'y person doesn't know that he's raising z's children who all have different Dads'. Rinse and repeat.

I'm all for comedy of all types, just as long as it's new and original or at least thought provoking. Not saying I read Clay Travis' work expecting high art, just that it's not something worth getting worked up over or whatever.

I'm more upset about UK fans who do the things that make the University of Kentucky's fan base, as a whole, look bad. For example, when it got cool to call Louisville 'ghetto', some of the other things I've mentioned earlier, etc. I think in this regard, UK fans have a little ground to make-up, despite the fact that many of the people who are stereotyped as "UK fans" have never stepped onto the campus.
