Jurich: "To the best of his recollection, he was open and honest with everybody involved."

Jurich: "I take Clint at face value. He went in open and honest to those meetings."

Jurich said, basically, that #UofL doesn't agree with NCAA assertion that Hurtt wasnt forthcoming. Shouldn't NCAA decision be the authority?

Jurich said if he'd committed the same actions (from Miami) at Louisville he'd have been fired. "But he hasn't done anything wrong here."

When reminded that his unethical conduct charge stemmed from NCAA testimony while at #UofL, he said it was a difference of opinion.

Jurich: "I think the appropriate thing to do is to keep him. ... He made a mistake as a young man, and I think he wants to make it right."

Has anyone been punished worse since UK basketball

If memory serves me right, there was no actual proof Casey put money in package, there is actual proof Miami cheated.

Ky was punished because they were Ky

NC is doing just as bad with cheating scandal and nothing is going to happen to them.

Agree with you here, GT. That press conference reads very strange. I've only seen excerpts from Twitter but... very odd for the normally very polished Tom Jurich.

The popular opinion is that Jurich is use to having his way with the media, so maybe he's surprised by the media questioning his decision.

Jurich is butchering this presser. Basically saying Hurtt will remain on staff because he doesn't believe the NCAA findings that he lied to investigators. Should have just let Hurtt go and move on...

Will this be an invitation to the NCAA to snoop around Louisville?

Truthfully, the way the NCAA handled this Miami investigation was remarkably inept. Jurich is standing by his guy here because unlike in past situations, he can probably afford to.

If the NCAA does find anything on Hurtt in the future... the university and Jurich will have some 'splainin' to do.

NC is paying players? You have proof of that? As to your original statement, USC, OSU, Bama, IU would all say yes.

at the time it was alleged.

No different than UK hiring the "alleged" cheater that Calipari was claimed to be.

Calipari has never been named in anything for being a cheater. Hurt has been specifically named in numerous reports over the years for what he's done. Apples and oranges.

Allegedly. Key word in my previous statement.

I'm glad it's finally over. I'm sure it would have been worse if the NCAA didn't butcher the investigation but now Golden can get down to business. They weren't worthy of a bowl game the past two seasons and that cloud hanging over the program has been lifted. He did a great recruiting job before and this can only help in the future. I'm sure Nevin isn't happy right now.

Yes I saw that but Calipari never allegedly cheated "officially"
