Great night for football and two good teams going after it hard. TOG will have stats but there were lots of plays of 20 and more yards. Fun game to watch. Ryle DB's withstood a flurry of bombs all night. Would guess the Blue Colonels threw over 45 passes. Their QB got hit time and time again- tough kid. Ryle's QB O'Hara is a very fine and tough player too. Raiders have several very good backs and some good receivers. Rematch should be a good one in a couple weeks. Congrats to Ryle. Great effort by both teams.

One beautiful pass play about 40-45 yards caught in stride about the 5 yard line by Scherr, two long runs by Long, some nice runs by Cusick (Lightning in a Bottle according to VOR) and #33. Ryle controlled the LOS most if the game. CovCath hit a number of long passes but threw for a low percentage due to good DL pressure and excellent work by a bunch of good DB's.

Please merge threads and I'm pretty sure it was 42-21. Only TOG knows for sure.

I see no need for a rematch. Last year Ryle and Beechwood played for a championship because they had not met during the regular season. If Beech

wood had met Ryle and defeated them last year in regular season there would have been no need for a championship game. Just trying to reason this out.

So my guess is that you think playing for a Super Bowl is silly if the two teams met during the season. Or there shouldn't be a World Series if the American League Team met and had beaten the National Team during the season or the other way around. Or what about not having a NCAA Basketball Championship game if both teams playing in the Finals played each other during the regular season.

Why bother to play a Regional Final, as happened last year in the Ninth Region when CovCath beat Holmes in the District Championship game but lost in the Regional Finals to Holmes. Do I really need to continue?

Remember this isn't Middle School, it's High School and you must abide by the KHSAA rules which require all Freshmen and JV games be completed prior to the last Varsity regular season game. Meaning once the Varsity Regular season is over with, no more Freshmen or JV games can be played, thus you would have to eliminate a regular season freshmen game to have a four team playoff and I don't think the Freshmen coaches will agree to that!
