Can anyone at the game comment on the pre game "space invasion" by Manual. That's how the tv described some Manual players jawing in the same end zone as the Rocks. and what was Manual doing in that end zone pre game?

 

I couldn't believe it. Obviously planned as the assistant coaches led them down there and totally classless. So glad to see the Rocks maintain their poise.

Another common opponent with BG. I expected Trinity to handle this one easier. Whats going on? Honestly, I was picking Trinity as #1 until tonight.

 

I think the play calling in the 4th quarter has been way too conservative. It has been keeping teams in the game and responsible in my opinion for two of their losses.

I arrived just a few minutes before kickoff so I didn't see anything of that nature. I thought the game was cleanly played by both teams. There were a few personal fouls (roughing passer and punter) but nothing out of the ordinary. The teams shook hands afterwards as there were about 10 uniformed police officers there to keep the peace....................................................{just kidding about the officers.}

With just cause. He has very close relative who starred at Trinity.

I don't know why the Crimsons were in the end zone, but the T players found room to get thru the goal posts and run between the senior's parents onto the field. Manual players and fans were very up for the game. Lots of spirit. Coaches probably don't like that competitive of a game, but as a fan, it was good to watch. Lots better than a "beat-up on someone" game. Trinity's young secondary has problems losing receivers and the Manual QB slung the ball tonight. Short passes not so much. Manual has some big linemen, too. All in all: A win is a win. T WR Rodjay (SP) Burns # 10 injured his shoulder.

That was a first at Marshall Stadium. I have seen teams dance on the T at mid-field, but never come down to the end zone closest to Trinity's locker room. Poking the bear is not usually the smart thing to do.

 

Margin of victory was much smaller than usual. 10 in a row is outstanding for Rocks over Crimsons.

 

Manual outgained Trinity by 20 yards 492-472. Nero was held to 47 yards on 19 carries. Motley had a career day passing for 417 yards on 15 of 17. The Crimsons have two more district games to play. Bonnafon was 16 of 22 for 263 yards and gained 113 yards on 10 carries. Brooks added 96 yards on 21 rushes. Manual receiving included Rist 3-86, Draper 2-110, Nero 2-74, & Blackford 1-49 yards. Trinity saw R Burns have 5 catches for 148 yards, Swabek 5-85, & Ott 4-31.

 

Trinity had 9 penalties for 91 yards and the Crimsons were whistled 5 times for 66 yards.

Some of the chants by the Crimson student body were just as classless. The Assumption Dance Team was heckled after their halftime performance. The usual "overrated" chant is acceptable. The usual "I believe that you are XXX" (insert word that used to mean happy :-)) is not.

I was disgusted by Manual's behavior, and equally disgusted by our secondary.....we have one week to fix that.

I remember when people bashed me as a Bowling Green homer for saying I thought Trinity was the second best team in the state. Given some people's comments about Manual leading up to this game, I wonder if Trinity is firmly the #2 team in the state.

I heard this as well and agree! I think most chants of any nature are pathetic and classless.
