October 12, 201312 yr Dunno if I agree. I can agree with Smith. Didn't be lose a brother recently? Playing keeps him around a very close group of guys and that can be comforting. If he feels up to it I have no problem with him suiting up.

If he feels up to it I have no problem with him suiting up. He did. Everyone deals with tragedy differently. There is no prescription for grieving. I think that I would feel the same as Smith and Peterson.

October 13, 201312 yr From what I understood on the radio, AP and the child (and the kid's mother) didn't have much of a relationship. Not sure if that is true or what it even means, just throwing it out there. Reports are that AP had never laid eyes on his son until this week.

I don't think you're wrong. I also just want to point out that while this story has gotten huge attention because of the child's father, this happens almost daily right here in our own communities. Literally....almost daily. Child abuse is a horrible problem in our country. I would love for each of those stories, which are remarkably similar to the circumstances of this child's death, get this same kind of attention.

We don't know the circumstances to that. Did he just find out this week that he had the kid? Did the mother prevent him from seeing the kid? If so, his pain could be different, but very real.

I get where you are coming from. I remember when Odell Thurman of the Bengals lived on my FedEx route.......he had 4 kids by 4 different women at the time and none of them lived with him, and doubt he saw much of any them. Just a shame.
