October 11, 201312 yr I never knew how STUPID polling was. Dems poll DEMS on how they feel about REPs and REP poll REP on DEMS. The DEMS poll DEMS on how they feel about Obama and the REP poll REP on Obama. Everything is polled to make each other look good and the other look bad. Bad thing is people believe the polls are done unbiased.
October 11, 201312 yr Only saving grace I see for the GOP that I'm seeing is that it's October 2013 - not October 2014. Even the pollsters themselves (not the politicians or the voters) are calling a drop this fast "jaw-dropping". Historical precedent for GOP is Whig Party of 1850s. In the past, the GOP always held steady at 37 percent -- that was usually the low-water mark. Seldom went south of that. That's what makes the 28 percent rating jump out. Repubs have done zilch the past several years to attract more people to its small tent.

This thread isn't about who is to blame for our mess, but rather who is perceived to be at blame. People can argue and debate about who should be held responsible. But the reality is that the GOP is taking a public perception beating over this whole charade. And that is not good for the Republicans.

Be interesting to see some early polling and the toll this GOP obstructionism has taken in swing U.S. House districts.

This comment goes back to a thread I started a couple months ago - will this be the downfall of the Tea Party movement? If the non-Tea Party Republicans are smart, they will lay this whole mess at the feet of the Tea Party faction, and perhaps rightfully so. How many incumbent Republicans are facing challenges from Tea Party candidates?
