Can anyone fill me in on how the first two rounds of the playoffs work again? If Male were to beat St. X, but lose to Trinity that would make the stadings of the district 1.Trinity 2. Male 3. St. Xavier 4. Manual (assuming Manual loses to all 3 teams). Would St. X-Trinity be a 2nd round matchup?

The two number ones cannot meet until round three.

Trinity and St Xavier would play in round two if the Tigers finish third. I believe the "super" district will sweep in the first round. Male would host Manual and Trinity would host St. X at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on 11/15 ( U of L hosts Houston 11/16). If the Tigers win Friday, which I expect them to do, then Trinity would get Male in round two, followed by the Tigers on 11/22 (U of L hosts Memphis on 11/23) at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

I can see Male scoring some points through the air, somewhere in the area of 21. But I don't see any conceivable way that male can stop or slow down the run game, so ill take X 31-21.

Yes, he started back yesterday. No equipment yet. Just jogging. Getting better every day, but slow process.

We wish him the best. By all accounts, he is a good kid.

I have not seen Male play this season, but know they have some very good young talent. It is going to take everything St. X has to beat this team, but historically, St. X plays phenomally the week after suffering a loss to Trinity. Ususally it is not against this good of a Male team, but I think the mental state of the Tiger football team will motivate them to get back to their winning ways. I take the Tigers in a low scoring game, 24-14.

I'm assuming the really good freshman class at Male from last year played in this one. That class beat both X and T as freshmen. Are many of these super sophs playing varsity too?

I hate to say it but, I call em like I see em. . . This X team is wanting to get the season over!!! I have not seen improvement so going into week 7, one should be surprised if substaintial progress has been made. I see Male by 10 points..... This game is the game of the season, if X comes up short, one can get ready to collect the equipment. The remainder of the season will be a formality. W vs. Manual, L vs. Cincy X. L vs. first round Playoffs........

One thing you could always count on was St. X improving from week to week under Glaser. Even if the team looked like a grade school one in preseason, by playoff time, it was a contender for a state title. Especially the last three years, the difference between the Tigers that played in September to the ones in November were a completely different team at times. This year, you just don't see that change in speed, physicalness, or overall play from the St. X team. Male knows this is their one shot to knock the Tigers off and they are going to come ready to play on Friday. They will WANT the win more and I hope St. X is ready to go or they could end up with a loss!!
