Wayne County 35 Corbin 28

Final.

Very good game. Had no cell service or I would have updated this game. Wayne had a very questionable TD called back or it would have been worse.

Probably the second best game in the state right behind Trinity/Saint X game...Boyle County Lexington Catholic comes in third...

Nice win for Wayne County. I would love to see some new blood in the finals and Wayne fits the bill.

Congratulations to Wayne County on the win; glad to see things going well for the football program.

Their QB is just the guy who could lead them there, he's the real deal. They need to improve their kick offs as they gave Corbin great field position all night.

We said the same thing when they played us. The only thing they need to be the total package is a kicker!!!

They seemed to be trying too hard to keep it away from Waddle on kickoffs and punts, but gave up a lot of field position.

Would have been worse? The game was nip & tuck the entire four quarters. Tied 28 apiece going into the fourth quarter and Corbin was what, 55 yards away from tying or winning the game with 2:38 left in the game. Both teams are very good. Wayne's lack of good kickoffs hurts them.

There have been quite a few who've said it could be something that hurts them going forward.

In your opinion, how far can this Wayne County team go in the playoffs?

IMO all the way. They have all the keys this year.

They can go all the way to the state title game, but keep an eye out on Corbin, too. They have a top-notch coaching staff & wouldn't be surprised to see the two teams meet up again in playoffs. Both teams are very good, but Wayne's kicking game (kick-offs) could play a big factor in how far they go, too.

I was honestly shocked by this game, didn't think it would be this close. Congrats on a good game and looking forward to a region finals rematch.

I believe Wayne County can go to the state finals, but the bracket will not be easy. Assuming they win the district they'll get two winnable home playoff games, although one could be Corbin or Bell in the second round. The regional final would require them to win at Central. And while Central might not be as good as they've been, it is still a tough place to go win in the playoffs. The state semifinal game would be on the road, too, likely at South Warren or Paducah Tilghman. If Wayne County is playing in the state championship game they will have definitely earned it.
