The Ridiculousness of Hashtags

Featured Replies

Exactly! When you use that very out of date telephone thingy and you get one ringy dingy, two ringy dingy....(with or without the cans with strings, your choice. I don't judge), they instruct you to type in your phone number, member number, etc, followed by the POUND key!

The day they tell you on the phone after you enter your SSN followed by hashtag I'm gonna keel over dead.

Take me now oh Lord lol

Yall gonna be shocked when you get to the gates and St. Peter says, "#what up"

As a member of whatever you want to call this social media generation, I don't mind hashtags. Like #Reds during a Reds game, or #benghazi or if you want to talk controversy or if you're at an event #wcgls13. When it happens, on Twitter, and people can search for that and converse with you, it makes sense, it works. But, when idiots make up their own hashtags that no one else would ever use, and use them in places (facebook still doesn't use them right,) it gets really really annoying.

I'm not on twitter, but mostly because I don't really understand it.

the reason I'm not on twitter is because I don't want to be bombarded with emails everytime someone I follow posts something. Does that make sense? Is that how it works?

My daughters and son use it all the time, and one of my daughters hastag every entry she puts on FB also. I guess I just don't like change lol.

No, that is easy to turn off. You definitely don't want notifications, especially if you follow a lot of people.

That is one reason I don't get on twitter, I can't think of anyone I would want to follow.

If you like sports there are a lot of analysts, talking heads, or athletes to follow. Then there are news stations and reporters. A ton of people to follow.

Really? Okay, probably isn't for you then.

And he should get out more.

If I asked you what your interests in life were what would you say?

I have interest in different things and people. But I have no desire to potentially know their every waking thought. If they write an article or something, I might read it. But that's about it. Plus, there is no earthly reason anyone would want to follow me.

I think this is a common misconception with Twitter. Sure there are some people that do that, but I'd say for the most part, people don't post every little thing they do. Nobody that I follow does, and I don't believe I tweet that way either.

I enjoy twitter way more than facebook. I like the tone of twitter and for me twitter is more adult than facebook as well. I especially love twitter during sporting events. I definitely enjoy #NBALeaguePass with Hammertime.

It's almost that time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
