What really sucks is that this thread was UK#1fan's attempt to stir the pot. IMO, the premise is ridiculous and instead of lashing at him, the really sad thing is that it has led to bashing of Scott. We need to separate the arguments in this thread about their SOS from the opinions of whether or not their schedule good/correct for them and wether or not they are they a good team. I believe Cooper will actually beat them and their current record is misleading, but I --like Hellbird, also believe this is great schedule for the Scott Program right now. As it is said... Rome wasn't built in a day. No matter how it ends for them, for the first time in a long time (or ever) this season will end with positive feelings in the air in Taylor Mill. The players, fans, students will be proud and that is certainly a great way to build a program. Kids will be excited to get to off-season workouts and there will be talk of Football throughout the school year and next summer. Most importanly, there will be expectations of success.

 

So I say Congratulations! to the entire Scott H.S. Family.

I think most agree with you. Scott does not and should not have the same expectations as Dixie and Simon Kenton. They are at a different place in their program's history.

The reality is that these 3 teams have had great starts to their seasons and should be recognized for their success. Each of them has had their ups and downs recently (mostly down) and it's great their having success this year. In the end, 13-1 is really impressive no matter if you don't have a rich history of winning. Winning, my friends, is still winning.

I could not agree more, I was not trying to show any disrespect for the Scott program, I am tickled to death that they are having great success this year, maybe now some of the kids who should go to Scott will stay in the program. Now I am officially stirring the pot!

That's already happening. I can only think of one big name that lives in Scott's district that goes to one of the other two county schools, and that's the linebacker at SK, Barry Deaton. I'm sure there are a few others, especially when you put Covington Catholic and Holy Cross in the mix. I just don't see open enrollment as that big of a problem.

As we were eating dinner tonight "The Boss" commented to me that while she was at Zimmer Chrysler this morning getting her car worked on, she overheard someone commenting that "Theoldguy" said something about this thread. She thought it was funny that this gentlemen was quoting me, literately right in front of her. Luckily she didn't hear the entire comment, as "The Boss" is very protective of me and if he indeed had said something negative about me, she just might have bopped the gentlemen good! :clap:

Dixie dominated Boone and SK spanked Ryle. Nice win by Scott to quiet the doubters. This group improves to 16-1.

Since this is my thread, wanted to let everyone know that I'd be glad to provide an update on how my public schools here in Kenton County are doing.

Thanks to Skinny for the KCPS mention in the paper today! While I'm at it, thanks for your coverage of SK football this season. Now would someone explain to me why WCPO send a film crew to get highlights of HHS vs. Harrison County? lol.

Simon Kenton is 8-0. Scott is 7-0. Dixie is 5-2. Kenton public schools now 20-2. Pretty impressive IMO.

Quite impressive, Dixie didnt help last night with the klunker they played, but still an impressive record overall.
