I don't think there was anything new in this video. Everyone knows health care costs are ridiculous. That is the reason I dislike Obama care it did nothing to bring down costs. I didn't hear any solutions in the video.

for a guy that is supposed to a fact magnet he is full of crapola ... He states Lipitor cost 107 dollars a month in the US as compared to wherever --- WRONG . Lipitor has been generic for years and cost about 10-20 bucks a month or less . And comparing our health care cost to Australia is goofy -- we have different health problems and different expectations than Australia .

I definitely agree that pricing in the healthcare system is a bit outrageous. I'm currently in my 3rd year of pharmacy school and had to complete a small internship at a hospital in KY. Want an example of a crazy cost that I had to help perform?

 

Good question for you all.... what do you think the cost of warfarin (anti-coagulation therapy) counseling is? I'd walk around the hospital counseling new patients that were being put on the drug the ins and outs that they needed to know about it as well as the constant blood checks they will be getting as per hospital policy. For a whopping 5 minutes of the patient's time (maybe 10 minutes if they had a few more questions), the hospital charged them $153.

 

A little outrageous for a 5 minute conversation, eh? Especially when I provide them a summary document of what we talked about. Its definitely out of whack and while drug costs are definitely a target to reduce costs, there are many areas contributing to the outrageous financial burden the healthcare system is putting on us.

 

Best recommendation? Wrap yourself in bubble wrap and somehow figure out how to recycle air into your bag and get food as well so you don't get sick.

I've known several couples who have gone down there to get fertility drugs and have had no issues.

While window shopping it looked as if a lot of the drugs were from the same major drug companies I see here in the states.
