Ummm, actually the defense outplayed Rodgers. Dalton not scoring in how many consecutive drives? Allowed Packers to swcore 30 unanswered points. Sorry FC, but iif it wasn't for the defense we would of lost today. Even you have to admit that, it wasn't Dalton.

No doubt about it the defense played awesome today. Rodgers got the ball 3 different times inside the Bengals 35 and couldn't do anything with it. When the Bengals made the Packers turn it over the Bengals and Dalton got touchdowns out of it. When the Bengals did get in the red zone the Bengals scored touchdowns. Your a big stat man. Dalton was 20 for 28 for 235 yards 2 touchdowns and an interception. Rodgers against that horrible secondary went 26 for 43 for 244 yards 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. The defense definitely is the main reason they won, but Dalton did out play Rodgers on this day. Dalton did step up in the second half and made some plays to get them back in it, while Rodgers threw interceptions. Dalton is not even close to being in Rodgers league, but he was better on this day. Yet you wanted to jump the gun and start your usual complaining or bashing before the game was even over haha. Just enjoy being wrong and enjoy the victory man. Its ok to not complain, it really is.

If you actually read my posts instead of not picking parts of some of them you would know I didn't watch the game and asked how Dalton did.

I agree the offense didn't perform great, no one can say the offense performed great when you turn the ballover 4 times. Which I actually did read your post in the update thread, and saw you asked and then saw you bash in this thread. He still needs to get better, because he is the key. However today he did outplay the best QB in the league.

You didn't question, you were slamming them. Come on, own it when you say or slam or make fun of something. The "lol" might have been the give away. Dalton was Dalton today. One bad pick, but pretty efficient the rest of the game. They were lucky to win, but the grinded it out and a "win is a win" in this league. I don't think they will apologize.

You may want to get your facts straight before posting next time. Do me a favor and read post 72 or 73 in the game thread. Sure looked like a question to me.

The Bengals D for sure did Make Rodgers look very ordinary. I was shocked by that. Even more shocking was seeing after the game that Rodgers is 5-17 as the starter in games decided by 4 points or less. I would have bet heavily against that.

As for Dalton. In 3 games played Dalton has been sharp and accurate in 2 of them. He had over 70% passing percentage in both and a very medicore, below average, 50-55% in the other. He has lead 6 drives of 80+ yards. He is 24-19 in games started. He has lead 5 4th quarter comebacks in those wins, yesterday's does not count as it was a defensive TD. 2 20+ TD seasons and heading for another. He still has interceptions, but not an alarming rate and does rarely fumble, although it was on him yesterday. By and large, we are in good shape with him. He should only get better. I am not blinded enough to think that he can win games by himself like the elite do. He is not elite and probably will never be. He isn't going to lose games either, by himself. He somewhere down the line has to lead them to playoff wins.

Just looking at stats, Dalton aint all that bad. Looking at him, he throws somwe bad passes, but it really can't be that many. Dude's completing 2/3 of his throws. Is there a stat that is a good indicator on the how good a QB is? Rating? Well hes not bad there either.

I always look at QB Rating and TD to INT ratio and a good QB should have around a 4TD to 1 INT ratio.

 

Dalton has 5TD's and 3 INT's .... not very good.

Put it this way, when the Bengals recovered the fumble on the 4th and 1 play late in the 4th qtr, a friend of mine was telling me yesterday he was hoping we didn't score on the fumble recovery because it left too much time on the clock. I told him if we didn't score there we may have lost because Andy Dalton isn't one you can depend on right now to lead the team downfiled for the winning TD. He thought about it and agreed. Dalton isn't there yet and really hasn't done much this season to improve over where he was last season. The first game of the year this year Andy looked the best, the 2nd game he took huge steps backwards, and the 3rd game he looked average. The 2 turnovers in the 3rd game is what kept him from improving.

His TD-INT ratio is consistent with his career stats. After 3 games his rating in in the top 3rd of the league. BTW Drew Brees TD-INT ratio about 2 to 1. I'm not sure that is a stat that benchmarks a QB. I'm sure you can look at every stat and find anomolies though.
