This phone has made it tough for me to post tonight- sorry

They had two good drives and an interception that gave them a short field. Every time Henderson would start putting together some offense they would kill it with a penalty. Hats off to CCH, it was a win.

Yes, CCH did have essentially two good drives and one short field, but how about mentioning all the ridiculous penalties called in this game. CCH got called for almost 100 yards in penalties- no way all those were accurate.

CCH is not just missing many starters but rather many of the best players on the team. When you can bring your semi-JV team 4 hours down on a bus and win against a Varsity opponent it is a good win for the program.

Agreed - beating the #6 team in 6A. This team has heart. And I haven't seen a much better high school DB this year than Mattie Way.

Just getting home as it was a long but very enjoyable evening.

CovCth "D" did an outstanding job and the "O" came alive in the second half.

One of the best grass fields I have seem and walked on, in a long long time.

How did Sam B play last night?

Were the PATs blocked?

I heard a bit of Mark Wehry's broadcast and he said some PGA courses would be glad to have the grass that HC has.

Were the PATs blocked?

Good question. It's not always the kicker. Often, but not always.

No clue on how many reserves played tonight. I did hear some sophomores names in the short amount of time I got to listen. Glad to see the youngsters stepping in and contributing. I know there were 2 sophs in the backfield on many plays. Not sure where else. I've seen CCH teams that had to play a lot of sophs. It's a challenge to say the least. They're not physically ready to take on big and strong 17 , 18, and 19 year old kids. So big UPs to the Colonels.

I'd say it doesn't say much for HC's chances to make a run this year.

I'll retract that if those same sophs put up a really strong showing against Highlands in two weeks.

..........

I said it after their scrimmage with Campbell Co and I'm going to say it again -- their inability to make PAT's is going to cost them a game. No excuse a program like this can't find a kicker.

The kicking game frustrates me! I think they have a guy in Litzer that can do it. Bottom line is that more time needs to spent practicing live. I agree that PAT's are going to cost this team a victory.

Were the PATs blocked?

I believe the first one may have been blocked, the second was a 2pt try, and the third was just a miss.

I actually meant to say it was a good win, left out the good. CCH has a good team, hate to see all the injuries, think they could have made some noise.
