A week after getting belted by defending Ohio Division I (big school) champion Cincinnati Moeller, 45-7, Covington Catholic showed some resiliency by handing Class 6A Henderson County its first loss of the season, 18-0, Friday night on the road.

Senior linebackers Sam Burchell and Blake Nelms had seven tackles apiece for the Colonels. It was Burchell’s first game back since suffering a broken foot in practice almost two months ago. He missed the first three games of the season.

“Moeller was just physically superior, but it shows a lot about them to put it behind them and go on the road and get the job done,” said CovCath coach Dave Wirth. “Defensively we have a few veterans in the secondary we slowly have gotten back and that one guy at linebacker (Burchell) that really make a big difference. As banged up as we are on offense they kept us in the game until we took advantage of some opportunities.”

CovCath is already without junior quarterback Adam Wagner, senior running back Luke Bir and senior wide receiver Evan Braun due to injury and senior running back/slot back Sam Dressman didn’t play in the second half on Friday after he got hurt.

Sophomore quarterback Ben Dressman completed 13 of 19 passes for 162 yards and a TD and senior wide receiver Sam Hatter scored two touchdowns, one rushing and the other receiving.

Will give you the same response, that one would get from the HHS faithful, if that question were asked of them................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

That is funny right there and you are spot on TOG...Injuries are never ever talked about on this site from our camp. No reason to disclose these imo for the safety of the young student/athletes...:thumb:
