Yes, CCH did have essentially two good drives and one short field, but how about mentioning all the ridiculous penalties called in this game. CCH got called for almost 100 yards in penalties- no way all those were accurate.

OK, like just about every football game there are penalties called. It's not like it was one sided. HC had many drives killed by penalties, it's part of the game.

No clue on how many reserves played tonight. I did hear some sophomores names in the short amount of time I got to listen. Glad to see the youngsters stepping in and contributing. I know there were 2 sophs in the backfield on many plays. Not sure where else. I've seen CCH teams that had to play a lot of sophs. It's a challenge to say the least. They're not physically ready to take on big and strong 17 , 18, and 19 year old kids. So big UPs to the Colonels.

I'd say it doesn't say much for HC's chances to make a run this year.

I'll retract that if those same sophs put up a really strong showing against Highlands in two weeks.

Henderson has struggled all year on offense and that was no different last night. Their passing game isn't great and there were some drops last night that really hurt. One that most likely would have been a TD. I thought there play calling was suspect, we were having some success on the ground with Damion Carter then they went away from him for a long time. Came back n the second half and moved the ball again. Lewis would then go away from it again and start throwing. This offense really needs a QB that is a run threat and Stiener doesn't seem to have that. The defense will keep them in games but at the end if the offense doesn't pick it up HC isn't going very far.

I believe the first one may have been blocked, the second was a 2pt try, and the third was just a miss.

Block from up the middle on number 1. 2 point conversion on number 2. And a pull that hit the post on 3.

Cch had the ball first and goal and took victory formation to end the game so the score could have been higher

Penalties are one thing. I'm not on the field so really don't have the same advantage of seeing what the zebras see. But the spots and the marching off of the penties is what puzzled me.

Any examples? There was an offsides on CCH that puzzled me a bit but that's the only one that sticks out.

Agree. I confess that I don't understand- on offensive holding calls, is the penalty from the spot of the foul? Because that's where it seemed they were marking it off. If that's the case it sure doesn't make sense to me. I thought it was marked off from the original LOS.

The kicking game frustrates me! I think they have a guy in Litzer that can do it. Bottom line is that more time needs to spent practicing live. I agree that PAT's are going to cost this team a victory.

Litzer could be a good one, but he is a soccer player.

He did not get to the game until 5 minutes before kickoff, and because he is a soccer player he only had a chance to to practice hand full of extra points all week.

Holding is suppose to be from the spot of the foul, I'm 99% positive on that.

one in particular because it happened directly in line where I was sitting........I had exactly the same view of the refs ....looking between the two teams...

...spot was on the 34 yard line, and the ball was actually placed on the other side of the 35 on the 36. Two yard gain and no snap.

How did Sam B play last night?

Sam had a ball and had the biggest smile on that face of his all night long!

Don't have the stats with me but Sam (if my memory is correct) was in on the first three of the first four plays of Henderson County opening second half drive that went three and out!

He told me after the game, that he felt great and had a ball and again the smile said it all.

Huge, huge props to the skilled youngsters, on the "O" like B. Dressman, Darlington and McGinness who all had games like they were seniors rather than Sophomores and on the "D" like Pitzer, Steins and our Junior punter Foertsch who had a great night punting the ball.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the play of our Senior DB's: Way, Oberhausen Schmahl and Fischer and LB Nelms who just makes tackle after tackle as I would also if I didn't mention Mr. Hatter who scored two TD's and a little mentioned Jr. Mr. Ben Zumdick who just seemed to be all over the field tonight making the life of the HC players miserable.

When one Colonel goes down, another Colonel just steps up and does the job. This team has Character and has that wonderful CovCath "Spirit that will not Die" attitude throughout the entire team and this year, the entire team has been needed to have a 3-1 record.

Just a short note to remind CovCath fans that the Freshmen game vs. Highlands at Ft. Thomas has been moved from Thursday to Wednesday of this week. Come on out to see your Freshmen play in their first huge HHS vs. CovCath rivalry game.

CovCath has a bye week coming up this week and it couldn't be coming at a better time, at least for me! Eight hours of bus riding and my first week back to work in three months, has left me beat!

It will be a great day today just to sit and watch some football on the tube. :thumb:

And finally a "Tip of Theoldguys hat" to the nice folks from Henderson County! What a beautiful football stadium they have in Western Kentucky and it was worth the trip alone, just to walk on that outstanding grass field of theirs! Thank you all!

Thanks for the kind words TOG. I was glad to see CCH added to the schedule this year, I knew it would be a tough game but definitely the kind of team HC should be playing to get better.

Have to agree with TOG.....was really nice to be part of HC's Homecoming....Very nice touch with the ROTC sabre walk throughs of the K and Q candidates.

Field was very nice......the bermuda made me wish I brought my golf clubs withh me.......

It sounds like several CCH starters are currently out. Are some of these guys expected to return this season, or are these season-ending injuries? I hope some of these kids can get back on the field soon.

Will give you the same response, that one would get from the HHS faithful, if that question were asked of them................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Doesn't matter who they have back in two weeks. It is still going to end up the way it has the last 6yrs...
