It turns out that you can't actually do those things that we do on the video games.

Earlier in the year Matt Kenseth was leading at the end of the race on older tires. They were playing his radio on air and he was telling his spotter to get them slower cars out of the way. Which his spotter responded he was. It was clear to see that they were getting out of his way so those on fresher tires couldn't run him down. So if thats the case Kenseth ought to have been penalized. During the course of a race if a teammate or friend catches a slower car they will move over and let them go. Even if there on the same lap. This has went on for years. It's BS if you ask me.

 

If NAPA wants to leave Michael Waltrip racing for doing what they can to get there sponsorship in the chase. That's a croc of $*!! as well. Michael Waltrip has made that company millions of dollars over the years and now they want to snub there nose at him. I call people like that common !

 

Big difference in lapped cars moving over and staying out of the way. Nascar has a layover flag just for this. It's to let the lapped cars know that the leaders are coming up on you. A lapped car is not giving up his position on track.

 

What happened last week was MWR intentionally manipulated the Nascar point system on who makes the Chase (playoffs). MWR attentionally had the #15 and #55 pit so the #22 can gain 2 spots on the track (not even counting the intentional spin). Now it's reported that Penske bribed the #38 to do the same. This put the #22 in the top 10 in points and made the #56 one of the wildcard spots. Knocking out the #24 and #39 from the chase.

They were 100% going to if it would of mattered. Gordon either didn't get close enough, or it wouldn't of changed anything.

I am not going to disagree with you on rather if they thought about it. I'm sure they did. But the fact is they didn't do it. In the final 2 laps Jr. had no clue that it would not have mattered. It mattered all the way until the checkered waved. Cars can turn a lap in a matter of seconds at Richmond and things changed quickly. Gilliland let Lagano pass him on the next to last lap, and at that time they where tied in points. 1 point mattered. Gordon was even pressuring the #56 for a point on the white flag lap.

It was Clint's fault for bringing out a bogus caution. If not for that, Newman would have won the race. You talking about opening up a Pandora's Box, manipulating the points system to favor your team mate is a box nascar wants nothing to do with.

I hate to tell you but that's what Nascar has done. I've seen teammates running 3rd move out of the way for a teammate running 4th because he was faster and had a chance to catch the leader several times. Heck there were times they weren't even teammates and its happened. There was no problem then because it wasn't the last race to the chase.

I'm old school.

True. I guess I should say I have never seen anyone manipulate the point system in the final laps of the last race before the Chase for the Cup begins and in effect eliminate two people who were in at the time of the manipulation.
