September 3, 201313 yr Disagree as to statement one. Agreed as to statement two... It's pretty ridiculous. George Romero's original zombie films were brilliant social commentary. To my mind, the best genre fiction/films/TV do that: shine a light on the present human condition by using an outrageous setting to highlight it. That aspect of the zombie genre is still there. The Walking Dead is one giant unflattering commentary on what the writers believe human beings are capable of when the world they're accustomed to suddenly comes crashing down. Okay. Modern day zombies are stupid. :lol2:
September 3, 201313 yr I do too. Just not during the Zombie Walk. I don't always participate in things that happen here., but I LOVE that something interesting and/or unconventional is always afoot here.
September 3, 201313 yr I do too. Just not during the Zombie Walk. Did you go to NuLu for the first annual Col Sanders walk this year? I found that to be every bit as weird/creepy as the Zombie walk.
September 3, 201313 yr Did you go to NuLu for the first annual Col Sanders walk this year? I found that to be every bit as weird/creepy as the Zombie walk. I did not... And I agree, it sounds scary. :lol2:
September 3, 201313 yr People are funny. During the vampire peak, I had a 42yo female patient who wanted fangs. Not some over the counter ones, I'm talking top shelf ceramic. So, $4200 in cash later, I made her a lovely set of fangs. Wow. :lol2::lol2: Zombies are stupid. And the people that prepare for the "zombie apocalypse" are even more stupid... I've never thought zombies were scary & hated most zombie movies/shows until The Walking Dead. But as Getslow said, that show is more fascinating because of the human response, more so than the zombies themselves. Zombieland is a great movie & I really liked World War Z. Romero's early stuff was okay, but again, that has more to do with the people & not the zombies. Zombies just aren't scary to me. The Walking Dead is one giant unflattering commentary on what the writers believe human beings are capable of when the world they're accustomed to suddenly comes crashing down. :thumb:
September 3, 201313 yr I love this neighborhood. Me too! I do too. Just not during the Zombie Walk. Oh, I definitely like the neighborhood....I just was a little taken off guard by the three girls I saw acting like zombies in the produce section at Kroger on Thursday.
September 3, 201313 yr Oh, I definitely like the neighborhood....I just was a little taken off guard by the three girls I saw acting like zombies in the produce section at Kroger on Thursday. It used to be more fun. Most of the real weirdos have moved on to Old Louisville.
