With them moving Taylor Mays to LB (Lemur position), he would make sense as that LB / S hybrid to put on opposing team's pass-catching TE's.

Wasn't he only going to be in on nickel?

The reason they kept Kelly at TE was to help Collins.

Collins received very little help when he played, not sure what your remembering.

Me too, but I like the Bengals' O-Line and defensive units much more than the Bears. If the Bears' o-line can give Cutler time to throw, the Bears could easily win this game. I just don't think that will be the case, Cutler will be pressured / knocked down / sacked, and that will lead to errant throws and potential turnovers. If I'm the Bears, I have a steady dose of running the ball and mixing in play-action, but they never seem to stick with that long enough and always end up asking Cutler to just drop back and wing it around.

The Bears linebackers are in a state of flux, watch for the TE's and the backs catching it on swing routes to be a big problem for the Bears.

Don't the Bears have a new coaching staff? I'd say it is hard to predict how they will approach their offense this season until they get in a game situation.

Bengals by 6.

Yes, but I can't believe Marc Trestman is all of a sudden going to lean on running the ball. Your point is 100% that they are new and old tendencies don't matter, but we know who Trestman is and we know Cutler likes to show off that arm.

Nickel and some 2nd and long situations -- basically the same packages as Lemur.

So on 1st and 10 we should expect to see Bennet running free down the seam. #owendaniels

Certainly a concern! Hopefully a) they have pressure in his face and b) the Bengals use a safety in the base set to run with him.

Given they have Forte, Marshall, and Jeffrey, I think they'd prefer the ball heading toward the TE over the other options.

Pressure is going to be the key, without it, could be a long day. I still believe our defense is going to be nasty, so you have to have faith in Zim that he knows what he is doing. I do.

maybe. Houston has Foster and Johnson. Yet the TE torched them. Zimmer has had no clue on how to handle good TEs.

I think Zim knows how but not enough speed at lb to do it.

I think it will be higher scoring than people think.

I don't think a Andy Dalton led team will ever light up the scoreboard. I see Bengals 21-10

12th in points scored last year. Not all that bad.

When I say light up the scoreboard I'm talking throwing up 40+ points. Dalton is one that is best managing a game, not lighting up the scoreboard.

How?

When you think of a QB lighting up the scoreboard what do you think that means? 2 TD's? if that were the case, every QB would light up the scoreboard just about every week.

Either way today's game is the start. Will it be the first game in one of the teams most historical runs or will it be the first game of yet another very dissapointing season in a long line of dissapointing seasons?
