Dixie 60 Beechwood 6

 

I was surprised when Beechwood threw 60+ on Dixie two years ago. I would be shocked if Dixie even got close to that number Friday but would not be surprised if they won. I think the game will be close and we will see which team improved the most from Week 1 to Week 2.

It sounds like Feiger had a tough game last week. I have a feeling Dixie's D is not going to be the team he gets better against. I will take Dixie 28-14.

I would caution everyone who looks at the BW/Lima game as an indicator that BW will struggle. We do not know how good that Lima team will be this year

How can you go with anything after that game? Lima has won about 4 games the last 4 seasons. It's gonna take awhile to see how good Beechwood is this season.

IMO Dixie is the better team.

 

Better team is one thing. 60-6 is another. You know the running clock starts at 36 points now. Don't you think 50 is more realistic in a running clock game?

The fact that Dixie returns all but 1 starter from last season. Rember Dixie started around 8 sophomores last year. Also BWs best player by far is gone.

I agree. Dixie teams of the past were soft not this one. Ask CCH, Dixie was much more physical last week. Dixie had 3 red zone TOs. moved the ball on the ground with ease. Multiple CCH players slow to get up after plays. BTW CCH is a very well coached team. I still think 2nd best in nky.

IF Dixie can cut down the penalties and play strong, physical ball - they will win. I don't think there is anything BW can bring that will stop the Colonels IF Dixie is playing good ball.

They have a handful that play both ways, but they rotate them in and out a lot. They're not playing every down on both sides of the ball like they have in the past. I was very impressed with their conditioning last week. It's not like past teams where they were gassed in the 2nd half.

Then I would say they are not much different than Beechwood in the numbers side of things. Beechwood does not have very many guys playing both ways. On their defensive line, they played 10 different players vs. Lima and have a pretty good rotation to keep players fresh. I don't see Dixie having a numbers advantage in this game.

Other than some skill players going from RB to LB and back, Dixie only has two players playing substantial time both ways. 50 Brandon Bohn and 76 Branden Johnson. Both have been conditioning to play all night if need be. As for speed they are going to be O.K. there as well. I wouldn't be so cocky as to say 60-6, but this group of boys are itching to get some old fashioned payback. They're team speed and toughness will be to much for BW to handle. Dixie by 10.
