Then I would say they are not much different than Beechwood in the numbers side of things. Beechwood does not have very many guys playing both ways. On their defensive line, they played 10 different players vs. Lima and have a pretty good rotation to keep players fresh. I don't see Dixie having a numbers advantage in this game.

There are a number of others that play enought to be exhausted in the heat the other night. The injury forced them to mix it up a bit more and I think that will carry over this week.

Other than some skill players going from RB to LB and back, Dixie only has two players playing substantial time both ways. 50 Brandon Bohn and 76 Branden Johnson. Both have been conditioning to play all night if need be. As for speed they are going to be O.K. there as well. I wouldn't be so cocky as to say 60-6, but this group of boys are itching to get some old fashioned payback. They're team speed and toughness will be to much for BW to handle. Dixie by 10.

If the bolded is true, then Dixie will struggle on both sides of the ball, unless they go with their 3 back sets on offense.

This is just my opinion based on what I saw last year (nearly everyone is back this year), and what I saw in the CCH game. They gave up way to many big plays last year where receivers just blew by DBs and running backs just raced by them to the endzone.

We definitely had some guys going both ways ... but ... depth allowed us to make some good moves (for instance--Combs played 3-5 defensive snaps total in the 2nd half).

By the end of the game .. there may have been two guys going both ways (and they were skill guys).

There may actually have been more than 5 that played on both sides of the ball during the game but not all the time. The only two I can think of that probably played more than 90% of the snaps on both offense and defense versus Lima were Shover and Studer. Bottom line is Dixie isn't going to have some big advantage over Beechwood because they are only playing 11 guys. Beechwood has plenty of depth to keep guys fresh.

I think I have to disagree with your assessment on the number of players, but I can I can agree with your Bottom Line. I do realize that Beechwood has a lot of depth, I just don't think we take advantage of it as much as we should.

OSD I agree with you 100%, I think the staff at BW goes right into the we are a 1A program that plays both ways mentality, makes no sense when they have the depth they do, especially for a 1A program.

I love game day. The anticipation and thinking about what might happen. Home opener tonight for the Tigers. It is going to be fun.
