Honestly, CCH will win by 10 plus. Dixie just doesnt have the personal to play with them. Highlands is the King Pin in NKY and CCH is and always will be second to no one in NKY. I thinks its funny, how people throw around the term D1 in any sport. Honestly, I can recall people saying PVS was d1 and he played at Georgetown. In my opinion he is the best player to come out of NKY in football in the last 6 years. I forgot Miles Simpson, so I would put PVS behind him.

We agree on the "D1" issue. PVS was a stud by NKY standards.

As a defensive player, I would take PVS over Simpson in a heartbeat. An absolute stud DB/ Safety for CCH.

You obviously see CCH and know more CCH this year than I do but.....

 

Using the first or second game of the season last year as a barometer could be unwise.

 

A few factors:

 

Dixie got a heckuva lot better LAST YEAR than they were in week 1 or 2.

 

Dixie played a lot of youngsters last year that now have a year under their belt.

 

Dixie will have the best qb in the game and , possibly, the most dynamic player in NKY.

 

CCH gave Boone some chances to hit the deep ball but Boone couldn't do it. Dixie can.

 

 

CCH lost a stud good qb. Wags has a chance to be a strong qb but he's not there yet.

 

Beating Boone really didn't tell us much about this team. They could be really good but Boone doesn't tell us that.

 

I think it's way too early to say CCH is X TDs better. They might be but I'd caution you to not use last year's game as a barometer.

 

IMO this game will tell us a lot about the Blue Colonels. I hate to miss it but I will.

 

I hear what your saying about using the 1st game as a barometer, but being as Dixie hasn't played anyone yet, what else do you suggest? I agree that beating Boone didn't tell us a tremendous amount, but that knife cuts both ways. It was Boones first game- who's to say how they will end up? Personally I think they will do well to finish .500 but I do believe What CCH accomplished against them shouldn't be undervalued.

Not arguing that Moore is a dynamic player, but I've seen this year scrimmages - he's not exactly set the world on fire with his passing. I think his greatest strength is scrambling and buying time making the defense defend for a long time. Having said that, he'll probably come out and be on fire with his arm- who knows. I still stand by my contention that in this game, Wagner out gains him through the air and on the ground.

I do think the statements about CCH's pass D are a bit overblown. I saw maybe two receivers get behind the defense and it would have been a decent gain if it had connected- but Floyd was also scrambling for his life making those passes tougher to make. Obviously Moore has a better arm than Floyd- I think the CCH Defense will hope to keep him in the pocket as much as possible and perhaps put a spy on him somewhere.

Fact is, I think this game will be won on the ground by one of these teams and in that respect, I give the nod to CCH, not to mention I think they have a better match up with their front 5 vs Dixie's when they are on offense.

Both teams lost some talent and return some talent. I just can't see where Dixie lost less and gained that much more to justify overcoming a 40+ point spread from last year.

I will say this, Dixie better hope they get CCH this year or next, because numbers are way down in their Soph and Freshman class.

I compare this year's CCH Soph class to the class of 2012. Lots of talent in all of the sports......
