August 7, 201313 yr They start getting more ammo on the shelves and I might buy your story. The one in Somerset had plenty yesterday, son picked up a couple 100 rounds of .40s&w and a few boxes of .45, they had some 5.56 but he is pretty well stocked up on that right now. Before I left Walmart we were only getting a few cases a week, now they seem to get some just about every night. Don't get every kind every night though...this time last year you could get all you wanted every day.
August 7, 201313 yr Can't find .380 anywhere. I have quite a bit of .45 but the wifey shoots the .380. Back on topic, I have several patients who are insured by Walmart, and many of them work for the insurance to be honest.
August 7, 201313 yr All of the ones I mentioned are hourly "Regular" employees and all are full-time. Stores average over 50% full-time and in some stores with lower turnover it is as high as 70%. Managers are salaried therefore there isn't an hourly rate for them. Insurance for the employee is available for as little about $20 per paycheck. I had family coverage for about $60 a paycheck, compare that to almost anywhere else...I think that was a pretty good deal. Average wage in KY is just over $13.00. I know of an associate that is still at Walmart that makes nearly $28 per hour and has well over $500,000 in company funded profit sharing and 401K...she was NEVER a manager and has worked in the same position for the entire time. Walmart isn't perfect by no stretch of the imagination...I know, I was there for 30 years...but it no where near the evil monster many would like to portray it to be. Walmart doesn't even go out and "Comp" shop because they thought that it looked bad if Walmart store was checking prices at their only competition if that competition wasn't a national chain. There is no way in the world that is true unless she is a department head, third key, assistant mgr or forklift operator and even then that is hard to believe because I also know people that have been there that long and don't make half that. You sure your not confused with Toyota, that's what they pay for being on the line?

You sure your not confused with Toyota, that's what they pay for being on the line? Never heard of a Third Key and there are no "Forklift Operators" at Walmart, just many people trained to drive one when needed. Average store uses fork lift less than 1 hour per day over the course of a year. No it is true I have worked with this woman off and on for my entire 30 years at Walmart. I'm not saying everyone that is there that long makes that but I know of 40 people at a couple of local stores that make $20-27 per hour. I was a manager for the majority of my time at Walmart so I did have access to payroll records and did yearly evaluations for many of these associates and saw their current rate and their new rate after the raise for the eval kicked in. I may not know a lot, BUT I KNOW WALMART!!! I don't have a clue about Toyota, not even sure where the factory is except that it is in Scott Co.

Back on topic, I have several patients who are insured by Walmart, and many of them work for the insurance to be honest. You can't get any ammo at Walmart down here. They pulled the cases, everything at the local stores. One of my best friends in the world is a manager at a Walmart in Charlotte, NC. He's done well.

Buds in Lexington had plenty of .380 last time we were there...try Whitackers in Owensboro, they will ship! https://www.facebook.com/whittakerguns that is their Facebook account you can ask them what ammo they have and they post new arriving guns daily.
August 8, 201313 yr It's the old "I want to make a point so I wont report all the information" article. Maybe Cinnamon just started at Wendy's. Maybe Colby calls in sick half the time and is a blooming idiot and is lucky to even still have that job, or like Cinnamon maybe he's fairly new as well. How educated are they? What did Cesar start out making 19 years ago? Probably less that $7.25, depending on what his starting job was. And maybe Cesar is a great employee and worth promoting and keeping within the company. Sometimes these articles that try to "inform" people actually leave one less informed. Example I remember from high school of what an old Soviet Union style article title might look like without really being manipulated, just leaving out important info: "Driver Gorgi Uroff finishes 2nd in big international race. John Smith, American driver, finishes next to last." It's a drag race. It's all in how you spin it. I agree. You can make statistics say just about anything you want, depending on which ones you use and how your spin it. However, I think there is an underlying statement here that is being overlooked. To use my old baseball coach's philosophy (of why we had to pay a little more $$ to get better uniforms than the ones our city-league provided)..."If you look good...you'll feel good. If you feel good...then you'll play good. If you play good...you'll likely win more. And if you win more...everybody's usually happy." And it's the same thing with employees. If a business is willing to invest in an employee up front...then maybe that employee is willing to work a little harder. If that employee works a little harder...then maybe the customers are a little happier. And if the customers are a little happier...then maybe they'll spend a little more money at that business. I think too often many businesses look at their employees as just an expense. So rather than use the employee's loyalty to make more money, they'd rather just go ahead and take it off the top (from the employee), and let the chips fall where they may. They'd rather deal with a high turnover rate amongst low-scale pay employees, than offer a few bucks more to attract/keep a more stable workforce. JMO.
August 8, 201313 yr Ive only been to Costco once, bought two big pet pillows for the dog, she loves them to death. Maybe if we get one in NKY I will go more. I may or may not be doing some site-development budgeting for a development in Florence to include Costco and Menard's as anchor stores.
August 8, 201313 yr Ok is it just me, but if Cinnamon is her real name, dont you think she could do better in another line of work, shes already got the name for it right? A bakery? :sssh:
