What does him being the Superintendent have to do with him coaching a team ? Why do you think this is a conflict of interest ? Apples and Oranges

I'm very familiar with Mike. He even taught me in Honors English I my freshman year at Cov Cath. He's been the Superintendent of Schools in the Diocese of Covington for several years now...but I don't see a problem with him having coached an 8th grade basketball team. When are you talking about him having coached, and what's the conflict of interest over?

 

Also worth noting, the rule about no games on Sundays came straight from Bishop Foys' desk - not Mike Clines'.

What situation, him coaching and being superintendent ? No, I'm not aware of the situation, but I'm curious since you brought it up.

Since the Diocese bought the sports complex (3 courts) next to Boone County High school, I was curious if any of the schools have been using it for practice or games?

^IHM was using it for some practices. I heard that St Paul was using it for games and practices.

I'd hope that they would be wearing that place out with practice and games. Could hold some nice tournaments there.

IHM (K-8) has probably at 30 basketball teams. When a school is part of the NKMSL, at least 2 nights a week the school gym is hosting games. So IHM was having some of their teams practice at that SOAS.

 

Also read that Cristo Rey will be having Mass in that SOAS facility.

See my post #19 . I have no issue with him coaching a team. Do not like the fact he pulled some teams out of the local parochial school league since he did not like their team formation guidelines. He is the one who researched playing time rules from other dioceses around different cities. The note may have come from the Bishop's desk but you can bet Clines is the one who wrote it.
