Carnival now has what is called a Cheers program. You get all of the soda that you want and up to 15 alcoholic beverages a day for 50.00 a day. You have to enroll on the first or second day you are there. I'll definitely be enrolling as soon as I board the ship. The only thing you pay for on the ship is alcohol and my bar tabs were astronomical my first two cruises. :lol: The Cheers program looks to be the way to go.

 

I just got back a month or so ago from a cruise on Carnival. I don't have a negative thing to say about the trip. The whole experience was A+. I did the Cheers program and you can get up to 15 drinks each day, with a value of $10 or less. I typically started out with a margarita or two each day, then went to beers. The beers are actually 16 ounces. If you reach your 15 limit, they cut you off for the rest of the day. I also believe that the $50 each day also includes tips as well.

My wife and I have considered going on cruises several times but have always chose the all inclusive route instead.

We both enjoy a drink or two or twenty a day when we are on vacation:lol2:. I'm sure the drink prices on the ships are comparable to ball game prices and that's what has turned us off from cruising.

They have multiple ships that run in the same pattern/s. So you will pass a few to and on the way back of the week before and after you. Plus they go over the disembark process right after boarding!

Went on an Alaskan cruise through Princess about 4 years ago, and it was the most amazing trip of my life. The nature and scenary is breath-taking. I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys cruises to find a way to experience it.

My parents were big cruisers before their divorce and they loved Royal Carribbean. I've been one two (hard to count the first because I was so young). The one that I remembered, we sailed out of Puerto Rico and hit up the ABC's of the Carribbean. I'm thinking about potentially going on one in the next 1-3 years. I think they are fantastic, great experience for the money.

I'm in that boat as well (no pun intended). I hate cold weather as it is, and the scenery wouldn't really do much for me.

When I was on an Alaskan cruise, the high temperatures averaged between the high 70's and the low 80's. It was really cool at night, but very nice during the day.

That's good to know. I still will never go to Alaska for anything but at least I know it isn't frezezing up there.

The week before Christmas 2012, we drove from Northern KY to New Orleans (saving airfare). Spend part of the day in the French Quarter. Boarded the Carnival Conquest for a week cruise stopping in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Had a blast with no major issues. Did a ATV tour in Jamaica, visited a turtle farm in Grand Cayman, and saw the Mayan ruins in Mexico. Spend a little bit more and get a balcony. If you have two rooms together, have the steward drop the wall between the balconies and you basically have a deck. We were not big drinkers, so we ordered one at a time.

And here before opening up this thread that it was about something like Guru took his old work car with the lights on top and had BGP painted on the sides. Hmmm.

I did go on a cruise you might like. Went on an 11 day cruise from Tahiti to Hawaii. Most beautiful vacation ever. Went on the Island Princess, which was the original Love Boat. It was a trip I never wanted to end.
