June 26, 201313 yr So, in the order of how much confidence in the starting 5, from least to most, my choice is this: Arroyo - ultra soft stuff has never been worth a poop in my book Homer - still checks out and sets em up on a tee far too often Leake - frankly, I'd have never guessed at the season's end last year I'd have him here, but I'd far prefer him over the other 2 Cueto - electric stuff most nights, however I question his intestinal fortitude Latos - doesn't have his best stuff quite often, but he battles, and he wants the pill.
June 26, 201313 yr Bronson plans on signing a 12-13 million dollar per year, multi-year deal after this season. He is entitled to every penny he can get someone to pay him... but at that price (or even at 2/3 of that price), I would not fault the Reds for letting him move on to greener pastures.

June 26, 201313 yr Arroyo's problem is that if hes having a bad day with location, he cant rely on a fastball to get someone out. He just throws more soft stuff up there and the hitters mash it. But most of the time this season he has been pitching great and locating his pitches very well. Very feast or famine with him. Plus if the Reds in the playoffs get some NL west team other than the Rockies (which wont happen) Arroyo will dominate. Just like last year in San Fran. Reds just need to get to the playoffs first
