July 24, 201412 yr Impressive, 1-4 are correct....and in perfect order. Thanks. I was pretty confident in 1-3. I thought of Spuds but I know he only played about four seasons for the Reds in the nineties. He did have a couple good years in the late eighties. I still say Taubensee outhit him as a Red in the 90's.
July 25, 201412 yr Who threw a no-hitter against the Reds in a game at Riverfront and also homered twice in that game? (part 2) Who did the pitcher retire for the final out to complete his no hitter? (part 3) Who was the pitcher's battery mate for that game? Rick Wise of the Phillies and I'd guess Tim McCarver as the catcher. Last out I'd guess Pete since he was at the top of the line up.
July 25, 201412 yr Rick Wise of the Phillies and I'd guess Tim McCarver as the catcher. Last out I'd guess Pete since he was at the top of the line up. What year was it? 71 or 72? Wise changed teams from the Phils to the Cards.

July 26, 201412 yr Pete Rose discussion got me to thinking about this... What do these players have uniquely in common? Stan Musial, Reggie Jackson, Dave Winfield, Frank Thomas, Steve Finley, Ted Williams, Lee Lacy, Barry Bonds, Mike Schmidt, Larry Walker, Pete Rose and Moises Alou. I guess this wasn't easily Googled :lol2: The thing this group has uniquely in common is they all had 3 HR games after turning 37 years old. With Bonds and Teddy Ballgame both doing it twice after turning 37. You'd never think of Pete Rose being in a group of players like that for a Power Stat! I actually remember watching the game Pete did it in. It was the Game of the Week on Saturday against the Mets in NY.
