Just looked it up - wow:

Look at these numbers from 2000 Houston Astros:

Bagwell: .310, .424 OBP, 47 HR, 132 RBI

Richard Hidalgo: .314, .391 OBP, 44 HR, 122 RBI

Moises Alou: .355, .416 OBP, 30 HR, 114 RBI (126 games)

Lance Berkman: .297 .388 OBP, 21 HR, 67 RBI (114 games)

Daryle Ward: .258 Average, .295 OBP, 20 HR, 47 RBI (119 games)

Ken Caminiti: .303 Average, .419 OBP, 15 HR, 45 RBI (in 59 games!)

Amazingly, this team went 72-90 and finished 4th in the NL Central.

Pete Rose discussion got me to thinking about this...

What do these players have uniquely in common?

Musial, Jackson, Winfield, Thomas, Steve Finley, Williams, Lee Lacy, Ba Bonds, Schmidt, L Walker, Pete Rose and M Alou.

Joking, I'm hoping...

Old bald guy that played for the Diamondbacks?

Old bald guy that played for the Diamondbacks?

Well, he was one of the best hitters and 3B in the game well before he was the old bald guy for the Diamondbacks, but yeah. :lol2: :D

There are just some names in Baseball that I think don't need a first name with them...to me Williams is ALWAYS Ted, any other Williams needs their first name listed also.

I'll try one:

What player homered four times in one game against the Reds in the second game of a doubleheader?

(part 2) What player scored ahead of the above hitter in all four of the homers?

(part 3) Whose record of 13 RBI's in a doubleheader was tied?

LRCW, you are correct on the four homers by Mark Whiten of the Cards. He drove in 12 runs in that game and one in game one of the doubleheader.

Former Brave Gerald Perry scored on each of Whiten's homers.

And LRCW, I know you will remember big Nate Colbert of the Padres. He had 13 ribeyes in a doubleheader against the Braves in the early seventies. I remember being blown away by his performance. The Pads were woeful back then but Colbert had a memorable performance.

No takers on this one yet?

What former Red was the first player to make it to MLB that had gone through the Tom Emanski program?

What former Red was the first player to make it to MLB that had gone through the Tom Emanski program?

I know Steady Eddie Taubensee was touted as being part of the Emanski program but are you talking about a player that came up with the Reds?
